Great place to go get lost in the woods on a bike, your feet, or in a Jeep. Would give it 5 stars if it weren’t for the trash. C’mon people, clean up your trash!!

Beautiful trails. Fun to explore. Nice to breathe some fresh air amongst all the trees. Whispering Pines park area: There are also playgrounds, a butterfly garden, tennis courts, racquetball courts, a pool, many baseball diamonds, a tiny free book Library(take a book/leave a book), a splash pad, basketball courts, and a couple restrooms.
Oh, and Pokemon everywhere! Pokemon gyms and stops throughout the park; starting at the entrance.
I love this park!

We went when it was raining so it was muddy (fun) lots of trails to explore. Fairly easy to navigate, all the trails are marked and show up on Google maps. The entrance to trail 14 was almost missed it's a little hard to find. We only saw 2 other trucks there the whole time we were there.

I love the trails in Citrus. I've been in a stock Expedition Max and now a highly modified Jeep Wrangler and had a blast in both. Make sure you are abiding by the marked trails and staying out of closed areas. If you are unsure or new to off roading, check with FWC, join a group like Florida Trail Stompers and get educated. Respect the land and enjoy it, it's all of ours!

The area and trails were well maintained and the caves were stunning! A great spot for some family adventuring and exploration. Highly recommend bringing bug deterrent as the horse flies can get out of hand.

January 2023 - Beautiful, relatively bug free, weather to get out and enjoy the forest 😀

April 2019 - Good limestone road into Tillis Hill campground (& trails) with hardly any potholes. The ranger was very helpful, offering suggestions for a short day hike. I hiked in an area of beautiful woods with some nice old growth hardwoods. I can't speak to the campground much except that it sure looked nice passing by. It's worth visiting if you're feeling a need to get *woodsy* for a bit. It's probably not so fun on hot, humid days.

Good hiking. Big loops, well maintained, and well marked. Camp areas look clean and comfy also. There isn't very much water though. What is there is sketchy.
