Fantastic sunset trip to see the bats with Thomas. He was super knowledgeable and friendly and made the trip lots of fun. The bats were amazing and the lake is beautiful. Great activity. Highly recommend!

The bat kayak tour was the coolest thing we did on our trip! The guides are very knowledgeable, helpful and kind. They go at a slow pace so a beginner/non kayaker can totally keep up. They make sure no one gets left too far behind - it’s a big lake so it’s not like you’re battling rapids. Seeing the bats fly around at sunset was unbelievable. My 9yo said “I could stay here all night” and that’s all I needed to hear! Save space on your trip for this experience.

This was the coolest experience ever! The guides were amazing and very knowledgeable. My husband has cancer and they even put an extra guide (Zack) on our tour to tandem with him because he couldn't do it by himself. They helped him in and out of the boat and made sure he was comfortable the whole time. It was so peaceful kayaking with the sun setting. Watching the bats fly out of the cave is a unique experience everyone should do.

Disclaimer that my group didn't actually get to do the kayak portion due to high winds (they gave a full refund), the guide did take us on a short trail over by the cave and talked about the history of the area. We stayed there and did get to see all the bats come out which was amazing. Cannot recommend trying this enough as I imagine seeing the bats would be even more spectacular from the water

My wife and I had a great time on this kayak trip.
Awesome guides Luke and Margaret! Thanks for putting up with us two old folks!
Not only did we see the cave but also an Osprey nest with their fledges, swallow nests under the bridge and a far view of the dam. They told us the history and stories of each stop and answered any questions.
The main attraction of the bats at night is really cool! They fly low and high, between your kayaks!
This has been on my wife’s bucket list for two years and we went in July after the babies learned to fly.
Off to the next trip on the list!

Although our trip was called because of rain, Zach was courteous and offered me another trip but because I wasn't from here and would not be around, he offered me a full refund. I will be back in a month and hope to take the same tour. Would highly recommend.

Come for the bats - stay for the extraordinary scenery and wildlife! The incomparable Thomas was extremely knowledgable (and the chillest dude). The whole experience was physically, mentally, and emotionally fulfilling. The Tennessee river is truly a jewel of Eastern Tennessee. 100% recommend.

We took the bat kayaking tour, and Margaret was our guide! We had an amazing time. Margaret was a wonderful guide, and was very knowledgeable about the wildlife and history of the lake and cave. The sunset was beautiful and the bats were really cool to see. After kayaking, they provided sparkling water for us, which was such a nice treat. We had a wonderful experience and will definitely recommend to others!
