Even though disaster floods and covid have severely impacted this business, the boat launch, gas and bait that are still offered are appreciable for those of us who like to be on the river whenever possible. The owners have always taken great care of our needs and we really appreciate their efforts to continue this family business.

My wife, two daughters and inlaws camping at Petit Jean State Park. Driving around seeing the sites and went to the lock/damn area which dead ends. On our way there is a Big Sign for Charlie's Hidden Harbor down another dead end road. Sounds neat so off we go. We get to end of road and another sign near gate shows entrance. The place is a dump and a bit scary with old buildings and cars and s handful of old boats at the "marina". Was hoping it was a place to possibly rent a boat but didn't appear to be. So we go to end which isn't far and turn around by the boat ramp when several dogs come running toward the vehicle and an older man comes walking down the middle of the road directly in front of my vehicle. I stop and role down window and he asks why we keep coming down there and circling every time a boat comes through. I thought he was just an old codger who was kidding with us so I said was hoping to catch a boat ride. He then began cursing at us so I said we haven't been here before just now and was just looking around. He accused us of lying saying he had watched us come in two or three times already and the cursing got worse. I just said it wasn't us and that I had my kids in the car. That seemed to get him to stop and he turned and walked away saying he was tired of GD people coming down there. We left.
Perhaps if Charlie's Hidden Harbor prefers to stay Hidden and not have people down there they might consider taking down their signs!?

Saw a sign for this place and we needed bait. Drove down and it’s very misleading. I think this place is permanently closed. If it’s not, the hours aren’t right. No one was there to sell us bait.
