I may have just lost my job because of MTD. The south yellow line is notoriously late arriving at Walmart in the afternoon, but this morning the 7:07am south yellow line didn't even show up. When I went into the terminal and asked why it hadn't shown up, the desk attendant just shrugged and told me the next one would show up at 730a, then commented that the 707a south yellow should have already came and gone. When I told her it hadn't and that I had been sitting outside since 630a waiting for it she just shrugged and said "It should have come by already, I don't know. The next one will be here at 730." When I told her a bus that said not in service pulled up, opened its doors, and took off before I could talk to the driver, she just said "oh, he must have forgot to change his lights" despite the bus literally taking off five seconds after showing up with his lights saying not in service. No effort was made to contact the driver or find out why the 707a south yellow didn't show up, it's was just shrugged off and I was told to catch the next bus. Wether or not school is in session there are locals who rely on this bus system to get around town, including to and from their own jobs. MTD needs to hire bus drivers who can keep their schedules running on time and create a more efficient method of contacting their drivers when busses don't arrive on schedule instead of just shrugging it off and saying "oh well, catch the next one."
