When it comes to lodgings you have to know what you're paying for. This is an inexpensive, older motel without air conditioning. The wifi is a little weak (it works for email and it works better in certain parts of the room -- but it isn't suited for high bandwidth). You can't come in expecting the Four Seasons. And if you come in with that mindset, you're going to be pleased. The proprietors are friendly and responsive. The room is small but it is functional (we stayed in a standard king room, no kitchenette), and it is immaculately clean. We appreciated the countertop in the back of the room for preparing our lunches each morning. Fans are provided to make up for the lack of AC. The lawn area is a nice place to eat meals that you bought in town. The mattress was also good. All minor problems during our stay (another guest parking too closely and blocking our space; a town-wide power outage) got a very quick response from the proprietors. I wouldn't hesitate to book again, especially if my next visit is not during a heat wave!

My husband and I went to Chester to attend a family reunion. We wanted a place that was close to my husband's cousin's home and the cousin recommended this Motel. From the outside I must admit it doesn't look like much, but the insides of the rooms are a different story. We could tell that remodeling and upgrades had taken place. The bathrooms had ALL new fixtures. Very nice! The bed was very comfortable and there was a ceiling fan and table fan that we used to keep ourselves cool in the evenings. We were there just after 4th of July. We slept with the windows open and both fans going. It was quite comfortable! We were there for about 4 days, if I recall. We enjoyed our time there. The owners were very friendly and welcoming when we arrived, and also when we left. We passed the other hotels in town, when we went to get groceries one day, and decided we had made a good decision staying where we did. It was much quieter and also less expensive at the Cedar Lodge. I really would recommend this place. Don't let the appearance on the outside or the fact that it may be a bit older keep you from staying here. We really enjoyed ourselves!

My wife and I took her parents on a three week road trip out west. We read the reviews about Cedar Lodge and thought we would give it a try. We really liked Cedar Lodge. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. The Cedar Lodge was just a nice little "mom and pop" place, just the way we like them. The owners were very nice and we really enjoyed visiting with them. Really liked our simple room a with the wood walls. Again the rooms could not have been cleaner. The location was good right on the edge of town with a woods directly behind the hotel if you want to stretch your legs and walk off supper. The rooms do not have air conditioning but as a rule it cools off nicely every night and it is really not an issue. The room also came with a small kitchen. Since we have returned home we have told several friends about The Cedar Lodge.

Katherine and Al, owners, make you feel like one of the family. Very welcoming and really helpful with suggestions of things to do and see, where to eat, etc.||||The lodge is an older place, but the rooms are clean, bright and nicely furnished. We stayed in #7 and enjoyed it. Can't speak to the RV park, but looked like it had complete hookups.||||This is a great mom and pop accommodation, and we enjoyed our time, sitting out in the chairs provided to look at the trees and relax.||||We were there during part of the Dixie fire, which made for a smoky visit, but the owners kept us up to date on the situation and we felt quite safe. Hopefully Cedar Lodge makes it through the fire and we can return to visit in the future.

We were lucky enough to get the last available room. It’s modest but very charming and clean. Our room décor was Tuscan-themed which we enjoyed. Catherine was friendly and accommodating. We would definitely stay here again. Located about 1/2 hr from Lassen National Park. Beatiful flowers too! 🌸

So far so great. 4 more days I will give u an update. Owners r truly amazing. 2 my husband n I that makes any stay anywhere feel welcoming r not. U feel me We've drove over 2000 mls 2 end up here. Happy we have!

Now heading home. The owners r without any doubt loving their life. One of the best places we have stayed. (5 days) U soak n free spirit n happiness. Great place 4 couples.

I work on the road an spend months in hotels. THIS place is in my top 3 for favorite places too stay. Room had a mini kitchen in it, was super clean an thorough. Also the owners are wonderful people. Super friendly an will go out of their way too your stay better
