Did the Mt Rushmore tour. Covered a lot of ground. Unfortunately, the guides were a big turn off. (Got spoiled with our Banff guides).
Spent too much time at places where there was little to do and not enough time at places of interest. Jackson Hole was not enough time. Everything seemed rushed. The driver of the bus listened to his airpods. The speaker, who sounded like Julia Childs had no personality. Treated us like we were 3 year olds. Last day of travel was too much time on the bus.
It’s the most expensive tour. Would have been great if our tour guides were great. But they weren’t..

When I saw I could get a week long trip to Costa Rica for $1,300, I thought it was a great deal. I was looking forward to visiting several towns and meeting lots of Costa Ricans, having dinner in local restaurants and sodas, and buying stuff from small local shops.
Boy, was I wrong. For the entire week, we spent about half an hour in a local town. The entire rest of the time, were were riding a bus with about 50 US residents aboard, shopping at preselected tourist traps, and staying at isolated hotels that afforded no opportunities to go anywhere except around the hotel. Instead of Costa Rican restaurants or sodas, we got bland food from a buffet line.
The daily cost was about $185.00. In any future travels, you can bet I'm going to be spending that money on a rental car and pleasant hotels.

As a travel agent, I can’t recommend Caravan Tours to my clients and friends and families. I am disappointed in our guided trip to Costa Rica. Our first hotel room was run down with stains on the carpet and a horrible view of the highway. I was speaking to our tour director Yelton about how the seating on the bus was not equitable as my elderly parents and I were sitting in the back of the bus two days in a row and he walked away from me. How rude!! They recommend that you tip based on level of service. Well there goes his. Also I think the company should know that he fell asleep as we all shopped at the oxcart factory. Shouldn’t he be the one person that stayed awake C’mon now!!
We almost went with Collette Tours and so wish we had. If you are on a tight, tight budget, maybe try them, but if not, upgrade to Collette Tours!! Also, if you have allergies and are gluten free, you are out of luck on this tour!! They were not helpful at ALL with my mother’s gluten allergy. They want you to tell them if you have an allergy but do ABSOLUTELY nothing about it. I mean absolutely nothing!! Think twice before booking with them!

On the Canadian Rockies tour. The bus was disabled so the tour director decided we should walk to the hotel in Pincher Creek. They should have provided alternative transportation. There were no side walks. I fell and injured myself. Caravan was of no help. It’s been over two weeks and no one has reached out to me. They do not care about their customers. The bus environment is ripe for Covid which I also contracted. Someone brought it on to the bus. I was unable to do the full tour. You are on your own if you get injured or sick. I did a tour prior to Covid and really enjoyed it. I will not be doing another Caravan tour.

We went to Guatamala and our guide was Virginia. I cannot say enough good things about her. She is amazing and has such a great sense of humor. I learned so much history and she kept it so interesting. Anyone that has a chance to go on tour with her will be so pleased!!

We had a wonderful time in Costa Rica. Our accommodations were top notch, the food was delicious, and the country is beautiful.
Our tour guide, Fausto Rojas, added so much to our trip with a warm and welcoming personality. He is a storyteller, a scholar and a gentleman. Our bus driver was so skilled as he drove up and down mountains and made sure that we saw every highlight.
We could not have had a better experience. Thank you.

Grand Canyon, Bryce, and Zion-June 2023. An excellent bus tour! Our guide was Francesca and our driver was Marvin. Francesca was courteous, professional, and had fantastic historical and cultural knowledge of the area. Marvin was a great driver and kept us safe. The hotels were good, nothing fancy. We stayed within a 10 minute walk to the rim of the Grand Canyon, right on the shore of Lake Powell, and near Zion. Also visited Sedona, Monument Valley. Great value, highly recommended!

Gerardo Moreno was a jewel. Patient, kind, knowledgeable, and a Joy to spend 10days with. And trust me,he had some real doozies on the bus. Great guide and just to frost the cake, he sent us a video of our tour which we will enjoy for a long time.
