Best place we have stayed in a 3 month trip around the USA. I would highly recommend for everyone. Lots for kids to do. Great trails to get your steps in, biking just about everywhere or running. Every type of camping or lodging you could want. The whole resort is beautiful. Very well maintained. Everywhere you go is spotless.

Oh my goodness, this is an amazing park! I don’t think there’s a nicer park anywhere in the Black Hills! Very friendly staff, wide sites, amazing views, so much for families to do here! This is one of the nicest RV parks we’ve ever stayed and (and we’ve been RV’ing for 30 years). We will be back for sure!

We stayed here for almost a week in site 813. Site was very spacious, loved that you don't feel like you are right on top of your neighbors. We walked around the campground numerous times, it's a lovely place to walk. The campground is very clean. Staff is friendly. Will definitely stay here again.

This place is too good to be true. I wish it could be kept a secret, but they deserve a review more than anyone so here I am! We stayed in one of the Glamping tents for 2 nights and had an amazing time. The accommodations and service were 10/10. The pool/bar area was very clean, amazing views, and awesome service from staff manning the bar. We walked the entire resort to check out the other camping options and wished we could have stayed longer to experience the teepee and treehouses for ourselves! We will most definitely be back! Thank you Buffalo Ridge for an unforgettable experience ❤️

We stayed for 3 nights in the Whispering Pine glamping tent. The property is beautiful and conveniently located with a stay option for everyone (tent, teepees, glamping, RV, cabins, and treehouses). The main building is nice with a registration desk, gift shop, some groceries, and a lounge. There is also a laundry room, showers, and a bathroom below. The pool area is the star of the show! We loved swimming in the large heated pool, the adults only pool, and hot tub. The concession stand was nice and the employee working there was so friendly! The glamping tent was great with comfy beds. The only upgrades I’d recommend would be a second lamp, two additional porch chairs, and more places to hang towels, etc. Otherwise, we were very comfortable. We’ll be back and will recommend staying to our friends and family!

We stayed at the luxury cabins. While the cabin itself was nice, there were a ton of amenities that did not match the value of the cost per night.

There are no blinds so you'll be woken up at dawn at 5am.

The toilet paper is so flimsy and cheap.

Overall, if you are not looking for luxury and like high cost cabins, waking up early, and low quality supplies-- this is for you!

This place is not good. Especially do not stay in the tree houses. Website descriptions are deceptive.. They are not clean and unsafe. There were dead and live bugs, including a hornet nest, when we checked in. We had to clean it ourselves. Spiral staircase was a hazard as it came down into the living area so we were constantly knocking our heads on it. Shower didn’t work the first night and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months. I felt dirtier coming out. Air conditioning unit would freeze up and dripped water directly on the kitchen floor from the ceiling unit. This is obviously an old Jellystone campground with owners charging way too much for their crappy accommodations. I felt bad that I had made the arrangements for my family to stay here.

Outstanding camping, RV campground. Great friendly staff, very reasonable prices and accommodations such has shower and laundry facilities. Stayed in September 2024 for 4 days in the Buffalo Bill Cody cabin and will be back this year for the annual Black Hills ride to stay at Buffalo Ridge Camp resort. The store on-site also has some drinks, snacks, gifts, and other goodies. Great place to stay!

We had an incredible stay in the deluxe cabin with our kiddo and dog. The cabin was spacious for our needs however I would caution that the second room upstairs is accessible by a ladder which might be tough to manage for kids under 5/6. We had a great view of the mountains from our balcony and overall relaxed so much during our trip. Probably one of my favorite cabins we stayed in yet.

The campground itself is very new, clean, and well-maintained. It is located right on the edge of town so we were able to reach food/grocery within 5 or so minutes and custer state park ~15 minutes. Around the campground, we saw so much staff ensuring it was clean and well-appointed. The pool and hot tub were very clean as well and the playground was very fun for young kids. Nights were quiet and the curfew was very much respected.

We can't wait to make our way back.

We had a wonderful stay. We had 25 of us and each family was able to find somewhere to sleep with their own comfort level. Kids loved the playground and pool. We stayed in Calamity Jane log cabin and it was perfect for our family of 4. 10pm “curfew” was very much respected throughout the resort. I highly recommend for big family gatherings.

Great location, beautiful newer campground.

Laundry options were nice, and the showers and restrooms were clean and well kept.

Hookups were nice and sites were big enough. There could be a little more room, our dump tube was pretty close to the neighbors fire ring. Not uncommon today.

The pool and hot tub were great! I'd definitely stay here again!

The camp store was well stocked and had plenty of options. It's also very close to Custer and the options there.

This was our second time staying here. We stayed in the economy cabin the first time and the log cabin the second time. They are similar to each other. The perks of the log cabin over the economy cabin include the ability to drive right up to it, your own fire pit, and a swing on the front porch. The mattresses in the economy/log cabins are not very comfortable, which, honestly, is typical for an economy cabin. We brought memory foam mattress toppers for our second stay. I do wish they had an economy or log cabin that was not bunk beds so it’d be easier to get in and out of bed. The bunk beds are nice for families but couples would prefer just a double/queen bed. I also wish each economy/log cabin had a mini fridge. The economy/log cabins are close to the bathrooms which is nice. I like how the bathrooms are individual and each have a shower. The pool and hot tub area are clean and have a resort-like feel. Free coffee at the camp store is a nice touch.

We stayed for a week with our camper. Campsites are very nice. Plenty of room for big campers and your vehicle. Fire rings, concrete pads, playground and pool was great. I love that they let people and kids ride motorized atv’s and bikes around. Bathroom/shower rooms and laundry were so CLEAN!!! Washer and dryer each take $2.00 per cycle. Huge bonus, dryers actually dried in one cycle. The only thing that could be better was the customer service at the front desk. We talked to the same lady at the front desk multiple times (check in, getting coins for laundry, and bought ice cream), every single time she was so rude (dismissive attitude, acting like we were annoying her by asking for basic items). Every other employee that we talked to was absolutely wonderful. The women cleaning the bathroom/shower rooms are doing an absolutely fantastic job! We will definitely stay here on our next trip to Custer.
