Went on Saturday noon February 22nd, 2025. Parking lot big and open. Only 2 cars and both left shortly after we arrived. Saw no one else rest of day and no vehicles when we arrived back at parking lot. Trails were turned over with disc blade towed by tractor probably the day before or early am. They were very difficult to walk on because that just made very deep, loose sand. We walked part of the perimeter and yellow & orange trails. Most was same consistency. Saw standard lizards, a few birds, many dried up, large snail shells, many gopher turtle holes but no turtles, and then came across a herd of wild boar. That was kinda scary. They weren't concerned about our dog barking either. We took off running, as best as we could through the loose sand trail. Only flora was some pines, palms, cacti, the yellow flowers attached in the pictures, and unknown bushes. Only remnants left from the training base was concrete bunkers and zillions of broken black pieces of clay from the shooting range.

Do yourself a favor, don't attempt to do much walking here during the rainy season. The only trail accessible was the blue trail and it was less than a mile out and back. None of the other trails are raised and were all under water. Lesson learned!

Large quiet area with some history. No restrooms. Partially shaded. Trails are marked and get sandy, so be prepared for a workout.

Very nice for playing ball. The reason I go is the dog park. They have two fenced in areas. One for the smaller dogs and the other of the larger one. You also can go on a nice nature walk as well. My dog loves it.

Very well marked trails with signs indicating not only where you are but how far from parking area. Lots of pines and cleared trails, some noise from overhead planes from the Fort Myers regional airport. Horses should have a good time on the trails so marked for horses.
