Well, I was just released from the hospital about an hour and a half ago. I was treated for a heart attack. I called to see if my adult son and I could get shelter there. Not only are they full, but the hateful attitude oozes thru the airwaves. I tried to explain my health situation is dire, the creature on the other end stated that they are only accepting women with young children (that statement alone made my skin crawl). When I said that I had a heart attack and I need shelter, she hung up on me!!! I seriously question the hiring practices here. The only hope I have is that the law to pay people with intellectual disabilities less is finally abolished, then maybe they can hire qualified people that actually can do the jobs without their personal feelings and tantrums.

You need to be homeless and reside in Broward County. You must call 211 and find it were Taskforce is meeting that day. They go to different locations in Broward County to assist homeless men and women. You may have have to go a few times because of lack of space. Please 65 and older get preferred because of there age. No Drugs or Alcohol allowed. They Do Check. It's a decent place to be in if you follow the rules...

This place is supposed to be a homeless shelter though feels like a PRISON. The prison guards treat you like a number no compassion or empathy. The resources are few and honestly a lot of things you would be able to figure out on your own. The worker are not considerate of your individual needs you are just a number to keep funding a non profit organization.

I just called to ask if there is availability for walk ins just so I have somewhere to lay my head for the night and the lady on the phone told me “No not here” and suggested I try the salvation Army… that is a Donation, organization for food and clothes. After I told her the situation she continued to tell me there’s nothing she can do, not even look up another shelter that does do walk ins and hung up mid sentence. Where is the humanity, this world is hopeless. Who ever that insensitive lady on the other side of the phone was at 3:30am was I hope she’s is as uncomfortable as I am ending that phone call!

So I called this place for a friend cause she's living in her car with two animals, I don't even live in this area. The guy that answered phone had manners, told me who to call and refused to answer any of my questions then proceeded to hang up the phone while I was in the middle of asking a question...very rude !!!!

The staff are impolite and unpleasant and spend more time on their cellphones than doing their actual job. They can’t even say hello as they walk by and always look angry when you ask them a question or often cut you off before you’re able to finish speaking. I’ve had to ask for a toilet paper refill on several occasions as the staff doesn’t check or care about our well being. There’s no toilet seat on the toilet in the bathroom but they can afford to hire a leaf blower and someone to wash the concrete outside. The cafeteria never opens on time and is filled with flies and often with expired or moldy food. No one knows what’s going on as one staff member will say one thing and another says the opposite. The director was incapable of allowing me to voice my concerns and was extremely rude as well. My case manager hasn’t checked in with me and often cancels appointments or is not even aware we scheduled a meeting. We’re forced to sit outside in the heat and be attacked by flies and mosquitoes as they lock the dorm and there’s nowhere to cool off. They clearly don’t understand you can’t work a job until you receive your documents which the credit card was maxed out and I was unable to obtain my birth certificate because of that. How does a credit card get maxed out for the homeless shelter This place is disgraceful and distasteful and they are only making the problems worse for people as opposed to helping them as they treat their clients with a lack of respect and are extremely judgmental. The staff has lack of trauma informed training and do not know how to deal with this specific population as one staff member shook my bed which resulted in a PTSD episode and I also saw one staff member physically touch someone by shaking and poking her to wake her up and then speak down to her for sleeping so heavy not realizing her medication effects her sleep. I’m truly appalled at this facility and it’s obvious the 14 million dollars in grant money has gone nowhere to the facility or the clients otherwise the treatment and the facilities would be cleaner and more efficient and all kinds of things. This place is truly a nightmare

This place completely changed my life.
When I first arrived I was in a very dark place and was struggling and had no hope whatsoever. The amazing staff here helped guide me to become a much better person and a strong young adult. My case manager German Barrera went above and beyond my highest expectations to help and guide me to a better future. As well as Ms.Bonnie in the housing department who helped me get my very own apartment.Broward Partnership not only improved myself but my future as well as my life.
