Borderland State Park features trails for hiking, biking, or horseback riding, fishing and boating in the pond, and facilities for tennis and disc golf. It has beautiful fauna and many different birds, butterflies, dragonflies, chipmunks, deer and more.
There is also a 1850 home built by the Smith family. The large attraction is the 1910 stone mansion built by the Ames family. They do have tours for the mansion.
I would recommend this people who love the outdoors and historical homes.

Borderland State Park was a fun, relaxing, and educational way to spend a sunny Sunday morning. The park is open every day of the week from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. While the parking lot was nearly full, the over 1,800 acres of land prevent the park from seeming crowded. Parking is $5 for Massachusetts residents, $20 for out-of-state residents. Borderland also offers disc golf, fishing, mountain biking trails, horseback riding trails, and little docks for canoeing and kayaking. Accessible bathrooms are available at the visitor center.

This is a beautiful place to visit on a day when the weather allows. It has so much personality. Oakes & Blanche truly loved this place, and it shows. If you’re a dog lover- this place is for you! Extremely dog-friendly. Paid parking when you enter ($5 for 1 hour) This park is very clean. A great spot to bring the kids!

Several trails to walk on with friends & family. Easy terrain except for some roots, rocks. Beautiful pond, trees & flowers. Beautiful mansion made of stone- awesome history of the family who lived there in the 20th century. Unique man made “pool.” Also, a large level lawn in front of the mansion to play frisbee, ball etc. Gounds/park are well kept.
Does cost $5 for parking, it fills up in the nice weather- recommend getting there earlier than later. When the parking is full- they will close the gates.
One of my absolute favorite places to walk at near the South Shore, Ma.

This is a really, really beautiful place for families, groups, friends, kids and even pets. The Lake has a sprawling ecosystem. There are birds and chipmunks all around, and we even saw turtles and snakes (non-poisonous ones)! The foliage during fall is breathtakingly beautiful.

One can do fishing, hiking, cycling, even picnic on the benches and tables.

The Ames mansion looks great from outside, but we did not do the tour.

Plenty of parking, $5 for MA plates. We paid parking via credit card at the lot, but you can use the app mentioned on their website, too. Restrooms are available near the parking lot.

Awesome location, I found it from a photo shoot I did with some friends of mine from the area. The place is really a hidden gem so don't let the paid parking scare you off. I've only been during the winter but the beauty of the park still resonates. The trails are decently long but are very interesting to walk. A mansion used in multiple movies such as shutter Island, ghostbusters etc. Is also on the grounds. My favorite part of the whole experience is the little cabin next to the lake with a fire place that's usually lit for visitors to keep warm at. Beautiful spot and I shall definitely be back!
