Good sized campsites, but there were an awful lot of dogs for it being a campground that doesn't allow them. The bathrooms could have been cleaned more frequently and some stalls in the women's were warped and did not lock, but I am happy that they had them! Check-in was easy and the firewood was of good quality.

The park staff and rangers for camp ground are racist! They made up lies to come to our campsite in middle of night around 9:30-10pm they told us we hit a car. They claimed to have a witness. When I called the local police and they came down then all of sudden they didn’t have a witness hitting a car and it it turned out not be our car. Furthermore, while waiting for the local police to come the rangers and staff Searched our vehicle without a warrant they went through all of our camping gear. They woke up my children who were sleeping.. we ended up leaving the next day. It’s sick to still see racism. If you’re not white please be careful at this camp ground.

I just went back and reviewed the pictures on here and, well, I somehow did not see the water at all while there and don't see any pictures that seem to accurately represent where I camped. It was a lot of big open sites, no coverage between, many on a bit of hill.
The front desk girl was very nice and helpful. I was greeted upon arrival from the porch of the welcome building.
But then I got a page full of rules of the land. One of the first is absolutely no alcohol on premises, which is fine with me because I don't drink but they seemed VERY concerned about this. And I couldn't even make it through the whole list of rules because it started to feel like a bit too much after I was told I can't car camp nor can I put up a hammock. Okay fine. But the vibes of this place just felt odd to me. And I have no other good explanations for why. The bathroom building was being cleaned in the morning but was generally kinda dirty and worn.
The mood just left me curious.

Difficult hike to the top, not an easy stroll, you are climbing/walking on rocks

We went to the parking garage area that is past the large park entrance. There is a grassy area and some good fishing areas there. Bring a chair and sit in a sometimes-shaded area with the kids and cast your rods. There is a beach across from the area that we were at. From what I could see, it looked like a nice little beach with grassy areas around it. There were kids having a lot of fun over there and it was not at all crowded. It looked like one or two families.

One of my favorite places to go camping. Usually really clean, staff is very friendly and you can see some pretty views if you are up for a hike. Cabins are great but have to book far in advance. Good fishing spot for trout!
