Beautiful place for fall pictures, and a lot of people were there and taking graduation pictures and fall shots. Get a chance to visit do so before winter.

My wife and I love hiking the trails here. Very well kept and plenty of room on the trails. The Southern trials on the Rock River can get very muddy and difficult to traverse during and after a rain, so be prepared. There are plenty of picnic tables and places to put down a picnic blanket. A lot of parking spots around the park and the bathrooms are located at the main building area.

Beautiful place to go hiking. We had a picnic on Mother's day and we chose the lower picnic area. The tables weren't in the best shape. The only one available was broken in several spots. But the view was nice.

Easily one of my tops in Iowa so far trails are easy going and don't steep low or to high to fast. Excellent. with one side leading to a grassy area with a 2 story open structure with benches on top near a side creek that leads into the Mississippi amazing at noon

I trail run here regularly, and it’s never repetitive or boring with the seasons changing. It’s one of the most beautiful places to visit in the autumn or winter because of the fall foliage and snow cover.

For trail running, it’s the perfect mix of flats and hills, depending on if you stick to the outside perimeter trails or venture inward. There’s a main 5k Strava loop I created that begins at the parking lot on the south side near the bathrooms (that are closed when it’s cold by the way). There’s a clockwise and counter-clockwise loop that is nearly 1.5 miles on each side of the park (crossing over the pedestrian bridge as a connector). But there are also more trails inward (especially on the south side with more hills), so definitely venture off the beaten path!

Overall, it’s a great park with fun trails, but it can get a little busy during peak times.

The girls and I love hiking here- really enjoy going up n down the riverside and then across the bridge to be in the forest before stopping at the playground to swing before we head home. Everyone leaves feeling connected with nature, in a good mood, and satisfyingly tired. Great spot to be able to get a quick couple miles in without having to drive way outta town!

Small but very well maintained wilderness park, with forest and river access. Dog friendly. I wish the quarry wasn’t just over the river, it is very noisy.

Beautiful hiking trails and picnic areas here. There are two main sections, the south loop along the river (~1 mile) and the north loop in the woods (~2-3 miles) The restrooms are maintained and clean when seasonally open. The diversity of trees make it beautiful during the fall colors.
