Attended Bantu Fest Chicago 2022 on opening day. I'm not sure when the music was supposed to start but the speaker spewing racist hatred was a turn off. I came to hear great music, shop and enjoy great food. I assumed the music started after I left. The vendors were great with beautiful items and the food vendor I chose had the best jerk chicken. I may try again next year but never on opening day at opening hour.

The fest this year was awesome. I enjoyed the talent. There were awesome vendors and eatery vendors. However due to my dietary restrictions I didn't indulge in the food stuffs, I brought my own snacks. But I bought a few items to support the cause. I enjoyed that a large group were able to come together and party. I paid for tickets for 7/23 and 7/24. Will be back next year. Thank you Bantu festival for a great time . Awesome talent.

This is a festival beloved by many in the Southside community and beyond. The entertainment and vendors were great! The food vendors presented a wide range of culinary tastes and cultures. They spanned from recent start-ups like Daisy Cafe Vegan delights to old favorites like Arookah Skincare. Unfortunately this years festival faced a number of challenges as well:
- Access: It was difficult to pinpoint the actual entrance to the event, online information wasn't accurate which led to people having to walk blocks in the hot sun.
- Security: There appeared to be only one entrance to the fenced-off events. If an emergency were to have occured it would have been difficult for people to depart quickly & safely.
- Seating: An open area toward the back of the grounds was provided for those who brought chairs. The issue there weren't to indicate this, in addition many seniors who came were unable to walk the distance to where the seating was. One couple left because the entertainment was at the end of the grounds and one of them was unable walk there.
I love the Fest, pray some adjustments are made next year.

It was good. Just buy the ticket when u get there. From wrong info from organizer or 2nd party merchant, I ended up losing $120 in unnecessary tickets. And I still didn't get a response or refund. I don't think I'll be doing nothing like that again.
