Ballad of the Bird Dog is a store with all the good vibes. All the merch is hand-picked and hand-made with much thought. There is definite attention to detail on every wall and item in the store. The Ballad shirts are a staple at our farm and we have been wearing them for 5 years now and they remain in good condition. The hats are also a must because they look really good with their patched logo and are comfortable just like their shirts.

I loved the assortment of clothing and home goods they had in the store… even got a fantastic Howler Brothers shirt there that my boyfriend loves! The hot chocolate that they made me was delicious, and the staff was friendly and happy, even early on Saturday morning. I sat on the little porch area and took in the beautiful murals all around the downtown area… definitely loved visiting the shop when we stayed in Brenham!

One of my favorite places! Friendly, warm, and welcoming. They have unique items you won’t find just anywhere. Mack, Ruby, and Rye love greeting customers and are the sweetest pups. Worth the trip! 🙂

Love this store! What a fun mix of product in the middle of a quaint downtown. The branded tees are a hit with my husband, as well as any of the ripe hats. They have pup products, a hat bar, and unique accessories. There’s something for everyone. Come for the store, stay for the dogs! They’re precious. Oh, and the coffee shop Mescalito at the front is a must stop too.

Love shopping here! It is such a good place to find gifts, and they always have the best cards too. Cute shop dogs are a bonus, and there is a coffee shop attached so you can grab a latte or smoothie while you’re there.

Ballad of the Bird Dog-Anytime I need a reminder to take pride in doing things the hard way, or a nudge towards appreciating the companionship I have with my pups, I visit the store and pick up some gear. Apparel that is tough, graphics that bring nostalgia, and everyday items that bring back heritage. More places like this need to exist.

I purchased the Skrimshaw Knife kit as a gift for my granddaughter. I was very pleased when I opened the kit. The possibilities for creating seemed wonderful. My granddaughter received the bone-handled knife and tools with much anticipation for creating her own beautiful knife. She is an artist and a historian. She too, was very pleased.
