Great trailhead that's part of the iconic AZ trail. There's a couple of short loops that start there; upper Pine View and lower PIne View. I did the upper trail twice as a mountain bike loop and it was great. Challenging enough to be interesting but nothing that was unrideable.

If you don't have time, go there anyway. A very beautiful spot. Various trails in addition to the AZT. From here north is one of the most beautiful parts of the AZT: about 25 miles total, to Geronimo creek, Washington Park and up the East Verde River to the Mogollon Rim.

We walked the interpretive trail and it was easy, mostly flat. Beautiful and a great way to get started on the trails. It is wheelchair accessible.

Took trail to Oak Springs. First mile from parking lot fairly flat through timbered area. Had to cross road to continue on trail. Next section 1000 ft elevation change, some straight up, some switchbacks . Drop down to the Springs. This area very nice. Overall good hike.

On Good Friday of 2021, I needed a break away from the city had company holiday off and wanted to add some fun anywhere not too far from Phoenix. I love discovering new outdoorsy. Hiking trails specifically. This hiking area has many trails to offer. I’ve only done one see the picture. Drive time Took less than two hrs drive one trip. Weather is much cooler maybe 10-15 degrees different. It rained during the afternoon so make sure you check the weather constantly. Wear tennis or boots shoes, Dress In layers or bring extra clothes always come prepared if you’re hiking and grabbing food afterwards there are local restaurants the area not far. Spent a half day, got there 9:20am hiked two hrs, one hr in strawberry museums, two hrs eating, left 3:30pm back in Phoenix before 5:30pm. Enjoy!
