This is a must visit. So much more than we expected. The fact that each miniature creation tells a Bible story made them even more interesting.

A stunning work of love and art. You don’t have to be Catholic, or religious at all to appreciate the beauty of the Ave Marie Grotto at St. Bernard’s Abbey. Be prepared for a walk, and take plenty of time to stop and take in the amazing details that Brother Joseph painstakingly crafted over his lifetime of service. Several public events are held annually as well, so check their event calendar. Visit the store and pick up a loaf of Monk Bread, baked fresh daily by the Monks of the Abbey.

This was pretty amazing that one man worked most of his life creating these shrines. Then another man dedicated his life to maintaining them after he died. I am in awe of his faith.

What a fun experience. The details of these miniatures are just amazing. Well worth visiting. Doesn't take long to go through, maybe 30 - 40 minutes. There's even benches if you want to sit and reflect.

We stopped by on the way to the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament to check out their gift shop and were pleasantly surprised! The gift shop had more items than we thought it would! This is a great place for religious items and resources! We left with a statue to place outside of our home and a few pieces for the inside as well! The Ave Maria Grotto is worth a trip in itself! We look forward to coming back and checking out the whole property soon!
