First visit today (11/30/2024) and found a nice, peaceful hiking trail that was almost empty, 3 other patrons were observed. Please note that BOTH trails leading to observation deck on the Alafia River are closed. Only 4 stars because no signange/online info reflected no egress to river/deck.

It’s beautiful to walk around, but the trail is not cleared well and it can be confusing which way to go.

Alafia scrub is an outstanding county park with hiking trails through the woods. It is pet friendly with a leash. If I had to pick a negative, it would be that I saw alot of trash along the south trails do to homeless in the past and the lack of county employees willingness to keep it clean. Also be careful of a collapsing walk bridge. Wonderful 30 min walk

What a GREAT preserve! Peaceful, but yet close to civilization so you won’t get lost:) trails well maintained and marked. Great catwalk to the river. Perfect place to grab a coffee and go on a stroll in nature:)

Trails are not well maintained but very much in it's natural state. Short loops no more than 2 miles or so. No bathrooms, only one picnic table, never any traffic. Good for dog walking 😃

Surprisingly nice 1.7mi hike. Some parts of the trail are a bit overgrown, but that makes it feel more like hiking than some of the trails that are as wide as fire roads. Overall a great time.

Nice little trail. Perfect for a quick walk or long walk. I love the view of alafia river in the middle of the long trail. You can take a short cut to cut the 1.5 mile trail in half. There’s benches and picnic tables along the trail for rest if needed or picnic. Path area has been well cleared every time we visit. Wooden boards to cross muddy areas are a little flimsy, but not dangerous. Great for quick runs too
