It was great to kayak with real wild alligators in real natural beauty just miles from urban Orlando and the theme parks. Even with post-storm high waters I got to see and photograph multiple alligators and herons and bald eagles and more. My guide Greg was accommodating, knowledgeable, skilled, and engaging. The Econlockhatchee River is winding and sheltered, with anticipation around every bend. Grateful to get to do this!

We took the Econlohatchee solo canoe trip for two days. Use this outfitter, don't even think twice. As a Florida native of Old Florida, (I grew up in the 60's on the coast) this trip is an amazing, convenient dip into wild Florida. Yes, airplane traffic from MCO can be heard, but otherwise you'd think you were so far away from it all. We did the 20 mile paddle and spent the night on the river, and it was everything I hoped for. It was serene. You could power paddle it in 6 hours but we took two days and drifted quietly quite a bit. We saw otters, fish, many large polite alligators, herons of every kind, bitterns, egrets, limpkins, and near the St. Johns, many spoonbills and wood storks. Our campsite was perfect....white sand beach, flat grassy tent spots. There are plenty of those. Along the way, there are a couple of sulfur springs feeding in, you'll smell it for a minute as you pass, but it's a good thing. Greg is an amazing, knowledgeable guy who grew up around here. You will love the Little Big Econ and this outfitter.

Hands down amazing experience today kayaking at Blue Springs! One of the most memorable days ever! Saw a bunch of manatee, alligators, bald eagles, and other birds. Our guide was knowledgeable and you could just tell that he loved his job. He was extra great at showing us different things but also customized our tour. We had manatee come right up to our kayak and look at us (and give us a push) more than once. Highly recommend! Book the tour and go!

OMG!! Jimi was an amazing tour guide!! He was so fun to be with on the water! The tour was amazing!! From the jellyfish to the gator, dolphins and fish that put on a show!!! He had so much information about the bio tour, but also all things nature and wildlife! We will definitely be back and next time, we’ll bring more people!!! We had a small group and had so much fun together! Thanks, too, Erica, for catching the fish in your boat!! Too funny!! But suck a great time! Great birthday fun!!! Jimi was an outstanding guide! With deep knowledge of wild life, he was able to guide me through the St John’s river in a unique way. I’ve learned about birds, plants and crocodiles, helping me to understand and connect with nature. If you like to learn during in a outdoor environment, that’s a must go tour (Manatee Kayak Tour at Blue Springs State Park). Thank you Jimi, It was a awesome morning!

Great tour. Small group (maybe 8 + guide) and beautiful day. Went in mid-March to a manatee tour, only saw one after our tour and we drove into the state park so that was a bit sad but we saw a few gators and tons turtles and cool birds. I would recommend going earlier in winter while they are more active in the spring, or call to see what the numbers are like before booking. The three hours flew by but started to feel tiring towards the end. Nice mini-kayak instruction before we got into either tandem or some kayaks so perfect for newbies and more experienced people. Moved at a good pace where you never really felt behind if you were moving slower. Guy was very knowledgeable about the area and wildlife. Great tour overall.
