Start of the 2 1/2 mile Dry Creek Trail that passes through Dry Creek Park and Cottonwood Park at Clovis and Alluvial, then terminates into Clovis Old Town Trail north of Herndon and east of Minnewawa.

The Dry Creek Trail in the fall is an awesome place to go for a walk or run. There are definitely times that are more high traffic, e.g., nice weather, weekends, but it is manageable even in a crowded day due to the space to either side of the trail if you adhere to social distancing. Be aware that the majority of the folks are not wearing masks! There are a couple of stations for dog duty bags and a bathroom by the children's park. Many people take their dogs for a walk there and the majority are well behaved (90%). Some stretches are cooler than others due to the shade the trees provide. There's also parking at Sunnyside and Shepherd.

And wonderful I enjoy this seven mile walk. You can also go further than that, this is all I can do. Hahaha. But I'm along the path of the stream and now there's water flowing through absolutely beautiful and many people are out walking always wondered to exchange a few words.

Was making a visit at this big parking lot Park to go for a jog on the walk ways. There was about 5 cars and trucks combined using the street to get out here. One guy in a white 4 door car was speeding up and passing some of the vehicles at a higher speed showing off and one vehicle pulled over to get out of the way of his bullying driving and the speeding car decided to swerve into that vehicle possessively he got close to it the other car waited patiently and the guy finally took off and drove into one of those street neighbourhoods with big trees. He had the behaviour of a wanna be gangster very stalkish on that driver and passing others fast. That driver was weird. Gave this area another visit this season. It can be a peaceful place to park and rest for awhile. Finish your lunch or even fast food during the day. Looks like more construction and expanding out this way. Anyways, it seems like some vehicles treat Shepperd street like a Freeway considering the way some people drive. SUVs Trucks Cars etc. like to drive rather fast towards stop signs and Red lights and then use their brakes pretty hard towards the end. Light or heavy traffic. it's like they can't wait to get out of town or chase other vehicles. People are too lazy to merge anymore. Men & ladies in 4 Runners Ive seen them race other vehicles. It's no wonder residents don't walk as much towards Signal lights. Fast drivers weekly. Also at this quiet park if you're looking to catch up and talk to a friend(s)here . Ive noticed a few blonde ladies in big SUVs park by the bike racks while other guests are here, playing music ridiculously loud( keep in mind it's all neighbourhoods here) and I guess they work out talking real loud. They sometimes talk crap on guests coming in. They sound very judgemental. A Toyota pulled in one time near them to rest and they trolled on the vehicle and person but they walked on and the ladies continued to be loud and workout. They're rude though. Aside from that it's nice park. Families watch your kids when walking or bicycling by Sunnyside Etc. Some drivers may be focused on their phones and may not see you. Stay safe and alert of vehicles.
While walking with a lady friend of mine, two different days, witnessed a black 4 door Chrysler and white 4 door generic looking Audi car intimidating other vehicles along the way here, one came close to an accident following too close speeding. Looked like gangster driving behaviour. If you're new to this area of the city this park may appear out of no where because it's a little ways out of the city area. I found it randomly. The parks a descent size plenty of parking until Spring comes around then it fills up fast. Watch out for bicyclists taking off when driving in they sometimes ride around your vehicle when leaving or coming in to the park. There's not much shade here. The trees in the park are small and some of the trees looked like they were very dry or dying. The most shade you'll find is south of the park where the neighbourhood starts and that's where the pathway is along the city canal. That paved path stretches towards the next city park near Alluvial street if you're new to Clovis. That park actually has grass and playgrounds for families. I found the park kinda boring for looks though. Great place to meet up with friends though. And if you need to use the restrooms, at times there's toilet paper all over the ground and the toilet is flooded with paper. it can be gross. As for traffic getting here it's an OK drive. There's a Me & Eds Pizza place if you stay East on Shepherd and also a Meat Market too, you'll see that first on Folwer Street. When driving on Clovis Ave. or Sunnyside Street to get here watch out for Black Vehicles of any brand and some white vehicles, they see a vehicle half block ahead they typically like to speed up on them just to get them to go way faster than the speed limit ( looks like bully driving to me).Even if there's an open lane they don't care at all. Jerk drivers are becoming more common. Enjoy your walks at the Park.
