Half the staff here acts like they absolutely hate their job and make sure everyone at the shelter knows. Some noteworthy moments being: shook awake violently by staff, laughed at when cried, don’t listen to medical notes and they would rather you pee your pants than let you use the other restrooms. The shelter monitor there is especially a real piece of work, calling out to people in front of everyone after they cried asking if they were smoking pot. They get all butt hurt if you don’t eat the food. Your stuff will get stolen and you won’t get it back, if you ask for help they tell you it’s an “honor code” and can’t check the cameras. 100% would never recommend to anyone.

This place is amazing! 3 hot meals, showers, soft beds, amazing staff (minus one of them) nice people there too (minus two of them) and you get your own space in the fridge and cupboard, but people steal your food, but it's still amazing!

Great endeavor to help people in need and the City of Chico trying to 'solve' the problem of homelessness.
The JC's approach is to provide shelter, food and safety to those who were struggling and re-teaches regular tasks like daily showers and tiny chores around housekeeping to prepare the men and women to move on into transitional housing after 6 months.
The staff is all in, motivated, fair and experienced. The shelter provides a bed in a nice, modern remodelled environment, three hot meals prepared in house, individual shower rooms, abilities to wash your laundry and daytime living rooms and kitchen, as well as a inner court yard smoking area and night time protected parking.
The service are ONLY FOR PARTICIPANTS IN THE JC's SHELTER PROGRAM. But it changes your life if you decide to sign up. The program is for no costs for Butte County residents. Just call or ring the bell to schedule an appointment.

Drug free environment. You must be able to test sober and continue to do so.

The Jesus Center and the staff/employees have managed to coordinate and help make a difference with community support , donations and many other charitable efforts in feeding , clothing , housing , and counseling. It has definitely helped many individuals and families in general with support and with resources throughout its decades of standing as a center offering hospitality in the name of Jesus . The Jesus Center . Amazing to have seen so many lives impacted in hope and change over the years . Thank you Jesus Center for being there .

You would think this place would help these people out by turning the wanted people or lady's in, instead of letting them stay upstairs. Some are wanted by Butte County and yet this place provides asylum to them.

I've helped cook in the kitchen and also served food on the line. Pleasant place, functions wonderfully. Many amenities and opportunities here.
