First time staying at this place (9/30-10/5/24). I was on this trip with 4 other friends and we booked 2 seperate cabins. The one my friend and I stayed in was Cabin#2. It sleeps up to 3 people. It has the basic necessities minus the microwave. There is a microwave in the nearby store. A heads up, always check the hours of the store because it varies throughout the seasons. I do recommend not bringing much stuff because they have almost everything you need at the store. The area I stayed at is not dog friendly unless you're staying at the camp site. They do have a shop and a restaurant for food and drinks. You can always bring your own to save money. For outdoor activities, there's fishing, hiking, camping, etc. I suggest following the recommended rules/guidelines because for those not experienced it does help. The staff here is very friendly and helpful in case there is anything you need. Beautiful scenery and memorable experience. If this is your first time doing this type of thing I do recommend this place.

Tent camped and kayaked here for 4 days. The lake is amazing! I usually "boondock" on forest land or find much less busy campgrounds, but family was staying in a cabin here, and I wanted to be near them. If you're looking for a place with EVERYTHING (showers, laundry, restaurant, general store / gift shop, marina, etc), this is it. Just know that it comes with crowds of people and lots of rules, too. Prices for firewood, ice, goods in the store, and facilities were reasonable considering the remote location. Despite the high density of campers (RVs + tents), camp was surprisingly quiet at night / early morning. Decent facilities that were usually clean and operating well, issues were quickly addressed. Staff were all friendly. Camp sites were typical for heavy use - small litter scattered around the site and neighboring tents just 15 feet away. Not a deterrent, but know there are active bears here, be proactive with wildlife safety / food storage, and bring an air horn. They could use more bear boxes as it was impossible to store all coolers & food for 4 campsites in 1 bear box; used car for food storage, which is not preferred. Overall, it was a nice time with family.

This is one of the most out of the way RV locations I have been to so far. The nice thing is it was worth the long drive. A lake, boat rentals, restaurant, store and much more. First come first to get a spot, no reservations and dry camping. Nice part is $30.00 per night. I will be returning.

This place should be on a bucket list. There are amazing views and trails everywhere. The best stocked grocery store and gift shop. I read other reviews and disagree, I have a dog and not once have I seen dogs running loose. Someone mentioned being kicked out this only happens if your obnoxious drunk, disrespectful , or don’t follow rules like sneaking a dog in Cabin. I have known the staff for several months and everyone is super chill. One man said no table at site thats not true they all do. Maybe another camper took it just ask they would have found one. People should state facts or do not post.

Website says all sites have tables and fire pits. Ours didn't. We took food to cook over the fire and had no way to do that. Plus we couldn't enjoy an evening fire. The staff was nice enough, but it was still disappointing. There is VERY LIMITED beach area for enjoying the lake. People let their dogs run loose all over the place, but that's the campers, not the camps fault. I guess they can't be everywhere at once. The sites are very small and crowded .

If I gave it any less than five stars it would be because I want it all to ourselves. Great place great staff. If you don’t enjoy yourself here then you will need to look in the mirror and find something else you personally enjoy because for resort camping it’s as good as it gets. We can’t wait to go back.

Melissa is a person who should be banned from any job having to do with customer service with no respect for paying campers or any other human. the saddest part is that the owner Norm who inherited all of Mono village from
his wonderful parents spends every year coming up with a longer list of infractions that makes any camper cringe. He also allows his Step Mother the dragon Kelly to oversee the cabin booking and to train Melissa. My mom's family has been coming here for over 50 years!! And I've been coming here since I was a year old. I started feeding the squirrels peanuts when they encouraged it and sold the peanuts in the general store. Now my family has been BANNED forever for peanuts and our yearly cabin rental canceled. i look forward to when this generation of management passes on to the fires of hell and then ill come back with my children to enjoy this breath taking campground.

Poor management/bad rental experience/not transparent.

We rented a dingy boat and a young guy helped my husband pay and rent the boat. I was not in the conversation while he signed the docs. Evidently, one of the documents said there is no swimming off the boat nor beaching it. My husband is certain he was not verbally disclosed this information. We would not of rented it if this was the case because this was our intention (fishing/swimming). However after they terminated our agreement upon breaking this rule they said it was our responsibility to read the rules. It was not on our receipt. So I physically went into office to find the documents. And an older worker showed me the documents- a small paper 3x5 in size agreeing to that rule. As well as a laminated paper that had additional rules.
What happened:
We went out fishing, got hot and decided to take a dip in the water. We went to the dam where it was sandy anchored the boat far from shore and swam. It was a nice reprieve. We were coming back to the marina. The young worker guy came and got us and says we had to go in. Upon docking the young guy had a smart remark as we were delicately coming into the boat slip "can you not go to the correct spot"... well the number slip corresponding to boat was occupied. That was not a nice remark especially after being told we had to come in -not knowing what we did wrong in the first place.

Anyway, the point of my story is to warn you that there is no swimming or beaching your boat. Evidently on pontoon boats you cannot swim off of as well. And your deposit is taken.

Coincidently the day before my family and I went for a swim off the shore. And my husband notice the guy from mono was telling people on boats to come in. My suspicion is they are not informing people well enough- if they pull people in and cancel their rental then they can rent it out again and make more $ and burn less fuel and save their costs.

PS we have rented other boats in Tahoe, Lake Alminore in which we could swim off the boats.

I do realize we signed the docs and there is nothing we can do about it. And they lost us as a future customer (our first year up) and a few more from this review. Be honest and up front - these guys are not trustworthy.

The lakes are beautiful too bad they get to profit off of it. Better off bringing a raft/kayaks.

Also I know who turned us in. When we beached a guy next to us said he knew the owner and wondered if we had engine trouble. Well now I know why he asked. He was the one that told on us. What a prick! Family of 4 just having a nice day out.
