WCAV, Brett and Calder were great. So great that I drove a round trip total of 1000 miles to use them over the many van outfitting companies in Southern California. WCAV installed the final piece of my otherwise self built Ram Promaster. They installed an 11 ft. upper cabinet. I was impressed by their attention to detail and especially when it came to consultation time. Calder was on the phone with me for 2 hours to discuss the upper cabinets alone and mocked up killer digital models. Digital Models looks exactly like the real product and the unit/install was sturdier than I thought it would have been (I could probably do pull ups off the open face middle cabinet). Can't ask for much more than that.

One of the worst experiences I've ever had with a company. Lost time and lost money. Calder is just not cut out to run a business.

I paid a $2,000 deposit a year ago for van build designs that I still haven't received (the drafts I received nearly a year ago were the wrong size van).

It took literal months of persistent emails, calls, and eventually hunting down Calder's personal contact information to even get a response. After some minimal contact, he's gone dark again and won't answer any attempts to contact him.

My wife and I ended up flying out to Oroville to pick up the unconverted van and drive it back as the deadline for the build was missed several times and I wasn't able to get any reliable communications from WCAV.

I don't normally write reviews, but this was truly a horrendous experience.

I feel so sorry for my friend who contacted with these bozos- and that's being polite. I've heard of the difficulties every step of the way and I've stayed in the van. Where to begin? My friend knew it was going to be a different experience than what they promised the first week they had it. The van got washed and plastic was put up behind the seats! That's it for the first week. Other weeks were similarly dismal. Now my friend finally got the completed van- months, almost double the time they promised
and can't blame all of it on COVID/ supply chain issues. The van has problems. Calls have been made,, messages left as they never answer their phone, numerous emails sent and no response. They are breaching the contract by not standing behind their work. Maybe it's time for a lawyer. DO NOT use these people. I'm a real person and my friend is- not some friend of theirs saying great. Beware of this company.

Hi, WCAV has my van and is doing a conversion. It's in process so 3 stars. I will amend the review when it's finalized. Thus far, communication hasn't been what I would like- slower than other professionals I've worked with because they have a rule about no phone calls! When - maybe one email a day happens that really slows down the process. I hope it will be ready when they say. I'm trying to get it in writing. We shall see about that.

We’re self-converting our van, but we wanted our additional passenger seating to be professionally installed. We contacted several upfitters, and West Coast Adventure Vehicles was by far the most responsive and professional. They took the time to understand our specific needs, custom-built a high-quality solution at a reasonable price, and even upgraded an element of the build at no extra cost because they felt that the result would be more durable. The end result was exactly what we wanted.

While we were there, we couldn’t help but admire their work in progress on some fully custom vans, and they generously shared ideas and tips for other elements of our self-build. (We liked their countertops so much that we actually sourced one from them on the spot.)

They are an amazing, friendly, and highly professional team; we couldn’t be more pleased.

I had them do my van and it was a nightmare that turned into a legit legal situation where my lawyer had to advise what to do. There was another woman who’s van was there who had the same exact problems as me. They don’t allow phone calls, they don’t respond to emails and they provide the same excuse over and over and even to the same people (verified by the other van owner). I found out they are NOT licensed Contractors, they do not have a license, and when asked they said they couldn’t provide it! I refused to sign the agreement when I got my van back months delayed, and borderline wanted to sue them for unfair business practice. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else to a professional licensed place.
