A scenic spot alongside the Feather River.
Unknown to most, just upstream lies the broken remains of the concrete foundation for a flash dam. Boards would be set in place during the summer months to provide an impound that fed the Western Canal irrigation system.
The Western Canal in Oroville, California, was originally developed by the Western Canal Company, which began operations in 1911. However, the diversion facilities and upstream portion of the canal were displaced by the construction of the Oroville Reservoir Complex. The current system, which is now managed by the Western Canal Water District, relies on two outlet structures located on the northwestern edge of the Thermalito Afterbay.

Riffles Resort made my wedding an absolute joy and so wonderful and easy. Shelly is the most kind person and she did everything to make my dream wedding happen. My husband and I wanted to get married but so many venues were booked up because of Covid and riffles resort had an opening, but it was 2 months away! Shelly helped us plan this beautiful wedding in only two months! Every guest said they had such a fun beautiful time and I couldn't have imagined getting married anywhere else. The tent was so beautiful at night and it felt like we were in a canopy of lights.

Lovely location, everything set up & decorated well. Once the sun went down & the gnats & mosquitos came out was pretty "buggy" so we left before cake & dancing....

The venue is absolutely gorgeous, but Shelly makes it the perfect place. She decorated everything for us, so we didn't have to worry about anything. Our day was magical, and we wouldn't have changed a thing.

This place is beautiful. You would never know it's there. Hidden in a wonderful spot. DJ'd a wedding here and despite the rainfall the owners made it happen. Great people. Very understanding and caring. Highly recommended.
