It was a very cool way to spend the day having lunch while traveling on a nostalgic train. We chose the trip that came with the meal and no debarkation at the one available winery stop along the way. It just depends on your preference to stay on the train longer or to have a short break before returning to the station. You may want to consider buying wine at the gift shop before boarding the train as it could save you a little money while allowing you to choose from a larger selection. However, be mindful that they might charge you a corking fee.

We were in town one day on a layover and booked the Gourmet Express 3-Hour Lunch Train. It was perfect excursion a day in Napa. We enjoyed our sparkling wine on arrival. I also ordered a wine flight and my friend had one of the delicious cocktails. There were more menu options than I imagined. We both started with the beet salad which was so fresh. She had the grilled tenderloin and I had the seasonal risotto. Both very delicious. The desserts were, too. The service is paced nicely and we had time to walk through all of the cars and take lots of photos and videos. I’d love to return and make plans to sit in another cabin. It was truly a perfect day in Napa.

This was booked for part of a road trip myself and mum were doing. We wanted an experience where we could relax and dress nicely for the day.
We were a little shocked by the price when booking but had seen good reviews so decided to go ahead with the Afternoon Tea.

We loved every minute of it! Kevin, our host, was brilliant and gave us some great information along the journey. The staff were extremely attentive.
The food was exceptional (apart from one of the cakes which was a little dry, but that didn’t bother us as we were extremely full from the rest of the food selection).
We very much enjoyed the welcome drink but felt that for the price we could have been given a 2nd cocktail before having the option to purchase more. We understand it was the afternoon tea package but it’s also the wine train, so would have been nice to have a sample of something else included.
Upon arrival we were gifted a souvenir pin and car sticker. We also got a professional photo (taken in front of the train) in a card frame when leaving.
The journey took around 3hrs from start to finish and the tea kept flowing throughout.
The views were great however we were seated on the left side and felt that the right had a slightly better view of the vineyards throughout.
It was also a special birthday for my mum and they gave her a lovely card for the occasion.

My three hour gourmet lunch train was amazing. The staff was very accommodating for us and our infant and the ride was scenic and just the right length. The food was absolutely delicious and well worth the price. It was the best beef tenderloin I've ever had. Of course the wine was delicious as you would expect. I recommend getting there early for pictures as they have some great selfie stations and can serve some wine while you wait for the train. Lots of comfortable seating in the station.

Overall the experience I had was great!! I was among friends celebrating a birthday. The train was amazing and a beautiful sight to see. The food was amazing as well. I had shirt ribs and was very pleased. The only downfall was I feel that maybe ticket should come with maybe 2 drinks and then additional for purchase. We got one glass of sparkling wine upon being seated and that was it. The drink prices are average, which was fine. I personally feel the cost of the experience could have included a bit more, maybe a wine pairing with the meal, or maybe even a small charcuterie tray per table since it took a while for meal. But overall again the experience was great!! Memories were made

A Truly Unforgettable Experience!

From the moment I booked the Napa Valley Wine Train to the time we stepped off at the end, this was hands-down one of the best experiences I've had in the last five years. The booking process was incredibly smooth and hassle-free, which set the tone for the entire trip. The staff provided exceptional customer service, ensuring we felt welcome and taken care of at every stage.

The train ride itself was a dream—so relaxing as we rolled through the stunning Napa Valley landscapes. The food options were excellent, offering a variety of delicious choices that made the journey even more memorable. The attention to detail in both the meals and service was remarkable.

I would highly recommend this wine train experience to all of my family and friends. It’s the perfect way to enjoy a day in Napa, and I’ll definitely be returning in the future!

Upscale and extremely tasty. Here for a honeymoon and on the train was a couple celebrating 50 years together, among other special events. Definitely, a setting to take in. You start off in a little waiting area and a glass of wine (with chocolates) if you get the "sweet treat" with a ticket purchase. The glass of Pinot was superb ? after boarding the train. we had the best server, Claudia, who made the experience 10 times better. The food was amazing and honestly reasonably priced for its gourmet appeal. It's nice to see the whole valley while enjoying an intimate moment, we also stopped at Grgich Hills Estate, whose 1 hr experience tasting experience is only second to the train ride itself.

I recently had the opportunity to experience the Napa Wine Train, and while the service was undeniably fantastic, the overall experience left much to be desired for the price point.

From the moment we boarded, the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. They went out of their way to ensure our comfort, which is always a plus when you're looking to enjoy a special outing. Unfortunately, the positive aspects ended there.

For $385, I expected a more refined culinary experience, but the food was disappointingly bland. Each course felt underwhelming and failed to showcase the incredible flavors that Napa Valley wines are known for. Given the reputation of the region, I had hoped for a meal that would elevate the entire experience, but it fell flat.

Additionally, considering the train ride is only one hour round trip (30 minutes each way), I felt that wine tasting should have been included. Instead of a single complimentary glass of wine upon boarding, I believe it would greatly enhance the experience if each glass were paired with our meals. If you wanted to have a drink beyond the complimentary one, you had to purchase it separately, which felt somewhat unexpected. This adjustment would not only elevate the meal but also provide a more immersive and memorable experience.

For the price, I would have preferred to spend my money on a private car service that would allow me to explore different vineyards and truly savor the remarkable wines Napa has to offer.

In summary, while the Napa Wine Train offers excellent service, the lackluster food and limited wine experience do not justify the steep price. If you’re contemplating this outing, I recommend considering alternative options that provide a richer and more satisfying wine country experience.
