HIRE JAMIE! I originally went with a wedding planner I found online who had a few planners working together and had an aesthetic on their website that I liked. It turned out to be a horrible fit (but you can read that on their review) and then I found Jamie. From the first meeting, Jamie was different. She cared about our story, our style, the experience we wanted to create for our guests and what was most important to us. She helped us create a beautiful event with many guests telling us it was the most personal and/or most beautiful wedding they'd ever been to. Jamie helped us find vendors, dealt with unexpected issues (buses too big for mountain roads, last minute heater needs) kept my dad calm and ensured everything went off without a hitch. Jamie is calm and competent with an eye for detail and is extremely professional and personable. I have high expectations for project management and quality after working in Tech in the Bay Area and Jamie exceeded my expectations. My only regret is that we didn't get to plan more events together, but I've recommended her to friends and she's knocked it out of the park again and again. When it became apparent that we were looking to move forward with a destination wedding (and would likely be trying to plan a wedding in the Caribbean from California!) my head started spinning with all the options. I truly didn’t know where to begin. What island should we focus on? And then beyond that, should we do it at a resort or rent a house on the beach somewhere I was overwhelmed, to say the least.

We initially contracted with Jamie to just have her help with finding and securing a venue---since that was the most immediate and overwhelming step we were facing. From our first meeting with Jamie, she brought a sense of calm and "we'll figure this out together" and helped put my mind at ease. I should also mention that my sister (and maid of honor) was expecting a baby in the coming months, and we were under a tight timeline to squeeze in the wedding before she was too far along in her pregnancy to travel. So one of the first things Jamie did was put together a timeline working back from our "hard stop date" based on my sister's pregnancy, and that was tremendously helpful in giving us specific deadlines to aim for with various wedding-related tasks. That also told us roughly how much time we had to find and decide on a venue. We gave her an idea of what we were looking for in a venue, and she went to work sourcing some options. Jamie somehow was able to smoothly guide us from the very broad idea of "Caribbean wedding" all the way to selecting a specific island and resort that fit our budget and had everything we wanted. As part of this process, she worked directly with the venues to explore their costs and see if better rates could be negotiated on rooms, etc. as part of a wedding package. So we knew, in making our decision, Jamie had explored all options and we were making the right choice. She shepherded the contract process with the resort and helped get things rolling with the room block for our guests, so people could start booking.

Because Jamie was so helpful during that initial phase--and because we had a TON of planning to do in a short period of time--we decided to extend our contract with Jamie to help with planning and procurement for more aspects leading up to the big day, and also to have her onsite to run the show on the day of. She helped with planning some of the design elements (flowers, lighting, decor, floorplan and seating, etc.), and oversaw procuring wonderful vendors for flowers, music, etc. And she continued to serve as the point-of-contact with the venue for everything.

I particularly appreciated how willing Jamie was to work with us on budget. We initially didn't budget to spend much on a wedding planner, but her help was SO essential to making this happen, we made room for her in our budget. And she was able to work with us to carve up the to-do list in a way that kept her costs down, but didn't overload me/my fiance with to-do's. (For example, I took on procuring the photographer and officiant, so that kept those off of Jamie's plate and let her focus on the other elements.)

Our wedding weekend could not have been more perfect. I'm sure things went wrong (they always do, right?), but I honestly had little/no awareness of it because Jamie handled everything so smoothly. Once we were there, she facilitated everything with the venue and the vendors. She was VERY prepared with schedules, shot list for the photographers, paperwork, back-ups of everything (including specific music we wanted the DJ to play). She was in constant contact with the vendors--and us, for that matter--making sure everyone knew where they needed to be and when. I know the days leading up to your own wedding are typically SUPER stressful, but I have to say ... it was SO CHILL. My fiance and I, our wedding party and guests were able to just relax and enjoy the resort and time with each other over the weekend. Truly, no stress. Just the best weekend of my life. Thanks to Jamie's superb planning and calm, professional presence running the show.

I highly recommend Mango Muse Events and Jamie to anyone interested in a wedding planner.

We worked with Jamie for well over a year and she guided us from concept to execution of the entire wedding. We didn't have a crystal clear viewpoint of what we wanted from the start, so she helped us determine the look and feel we wanted to create, explore venues, decide catering, florals, you name it.

She is extremely organized and professional. She was patient (because goodness, we definitely took our time on some things) but also persistent when we really needed to make some decisions. I love that she gets that the wedding is really whatever the couple wants, whatever represents them and she works to make that happen.

Our wedding was fantastic! I know most people probably say that about their weddings, but everything really ran smoothly. We didn't have to worry about anything, nor did our family or friends have to do anything other than enjoy themselves, which is exactly why I wanted a planner in the first place. Jamie killed it on the day-of and I think a lot of what made that easier is the fact that she had worked with us for over a year and knew everything about the event and knew us as well.

Most importantly, she was just a pleasure to work with. It felt effortless and easy to communicate with her, because she really does love what she does and it shows. If you're thinking about a planner, set up an intro with Jamie!

Jamie is FANTASTIC.

During our initial call, she helped us figure out what level of support would suit us best and was open to hearing the specific areas of guidance (event design, vendor coordination, budget management, etc.) that we felt we needed most.

She pushed us to reflect on what was most important to us and helped us keep that overarching vision in mind throughout the many decisions we made over the course of a year. In what could easily be an overwhelming process, she helped us prioritize our to-do lists and track both long-term and short-term milestones.

We definitely dragged our feet on making some decisions but she never pressured us. When we had our own thoughts but wanted to get her take, she was very straightforward and practical--if you take this route then just keep in mind X,Y,Z, if you choose this then you will also have to do that. But when we felt more lost, she was able to give us clear recommendations.

In the weeks leading up to our wedding, Jamie was in touch with us frequently, and always responded quickly to my (many) last minute questions. It felt like every detail was arranged, every contingency had been thought of, and all we had to do was show up.

On our wedding day, we were able to really be in the moment, enjoy ourselves, and not worry about anything because we completely trusted in Jamie and all the careful preparation we had done together in the months before. It was invaluable to be really present during the day and focus on each other and our loved ones.

Hiring Jamie Chang of Mango Muse Events was honestly the best money I spent for my wedding. She helped me through the whole process from start to finish and I could not have done it without her. I can get kind of stressed out and everyone told me that wedding planning would be crazy and stressful but, because I could rely on Jamie, I was able to relax and actually enjoy the process.

Jamie was always super responsive to all my crazy emails and she met with me a ton of times over the course of the planning process. She really puts in a lot of time and love into each event and I always felt like I was her one and only client. She was able to find the perfect replacement when our musician got sick two days before the wedding and she coordinated with all our multiple vendors to make sure everything went smoothly.

Most importantly for me, Jamie got to know us as a couple and made sure that every detail of the wedding reflected who we are. Her vendor recommendations were always spot-on and carefully selected based on what we were looking for. She came up with fabulous design ideas when we were lacking in the creativity department and she really helped us bring our personality into the event. So when I walked out on my wedding day and saw everything come together, I was absolutely thrilled with the results - It was so "us" and it was perfect.

Jamie didn't just help us plan our wedding - she helped us create memories of our special day that will last a lifetime. A year after our wedding, our parents, family and friends are still talking about what a beautiful event Jamie helped us pull off and how the wedding was so fitting of our personalities. Jamie is 100% the reason everyone is still reminiscing. She is a visionary in the wedding planning world. She takes the time to listen and brings creative ideas that represent what you want your wedding day to be but could never have thought of yourself. For example, we had a relatively small wedding of 60 people and Jamie suggested that we write personalized notes to each guest for them to read as they sat down for the wedding dinner. We would never have thought of that and my parents, to this day, read the note my husband wrote to each of them each night. This is the kind of joy and magic only Jamie can create - she brought joy to my husband and I on how marvelous everything turned out (and how much FUN we had getting married) but also joy in seeing the joining of two families and the creation of the joint memory of our wedding day.

I am admittedly a tough critic but can honestly say nothing but positive things about Jamie. She has vision, attention to detail, diligence, takes pride in everything she does and brings creative touches to the big day.
