A very close friend of mine has been hunting with Chris at Dakota Hunting Trips for several years. Usually making at least two different trips a year for turkey and mule deer. As I started hunting with him at home, he would talk about how hunting at Chris’s place is like nothing you’ve experienced and how much he looked forward to it every year. I was finally able to go along on the 1,300-mile trip for a turkey hunt and he was absolutely right. From start to finish, Chris and his crew provide an exceptional and memorable experience. The Lodge and accommodations are top notch. More importantly, Chris’s wealth of knowledge, experience, and expertise allow him to set up his clients for a quality and successful hunt. I chose Dakota Hunting Trips for my first ever deer hunt. Chris and Justin will go extra mile to find a right animal for you. Came back next year and harvested a trophy bison, unbelievable experience. Pheasant hunts are fantastic, guys doing a great job managing birds population. One of my roosters ended up in my gun room, cant wait for the next season.

Me, my brother and a buddy hunted whitetail deer in late November 2016 with Chris Peterson of Dakota Hunting Trips. We stayed at Prairie Dog Lodge. Overall the experience exceeded our expectations. Nice, new bunk houses with shower facilities and a large dining room and game room to relax in after a long day of hunting. Chris had done a good job of placing blinds and growing food plots which attracted lots of deer not to mention the pheasants. Two of us tagged out with respectable mature bucks and the other missed a large buck. We put down a deposit prior to leaving and are headed back this November for another crack at big South Dakota Whitetails.

Chris Peterson of Dakota Hunting Trips was not only my host, he was also my individual guide. I tagged out at 9am on the second day of a three day Merriam hunt. We went out 3x, we had birds every time. He and his staff, together made it an exceptional trip. Well worth a 1600 mile drive. I highly recommend Dakota Hunting Trips.

I would never go anywhere else again after finding Dakota Hunting trips! Chris and his people are fantastic hosts, successful hunters, and fun people to be around. Contrary to the occasional negative review from the person that is impossible to please, the accommodations and atmosphere are absolutely fantastic. I have hunted many states for deer but none compare to the hunt that Chris provides. He knows his properties very well and works very hard to put you in a position to have a successful hunt. We have always seen multiple shooter bucks with Chris. The accommodation’s are first class and we are always planning return trips.
