We were at Camp.David for the weekend and had a wonderful time. The Camp is located on Bantam Lake and the views from the cabins were beautiful. The cabins were modern, with separate bedrooms, updated kitchens and bathrooms and even big screen tvs. Camp David is ideal for family reunions, bachelor parties and other group events. We had a great time at Camp David and I'm sure others will as well. Check out the pictures of the rainbow over the Lake which we could see from our cabin!

My family won a three-night stay at this venue through a silent auction, where David Sperling donated the stay. Unfortunately, the experience was far from what we expected. While we were out on a hike, Mr. Sperling entered our room, took $300 out of one of our wallets, and took photos of credit cards and a driver’s license, allegedly due to an issue with our last name—three of our family members are Asian American, and this felt racially motivated.

Additionally, while we were out kayaking, Mr. Sperling took his boat and drove it toward us at full speed, which was not only intimidating but also extremely scary and unsafe. This illegal act was witnessed by a local boater that was fishing in the same area that we were kayaking.

The venue has ‘House Rules’ (see photos), which clearly state that no loud music or noise is allowed after 10 p.m. However, I was woken up at 2 a.m. by a house party next door that lasted until approximately 3:30am and despite Mr. Sperling being on the premises, he did nothing to address the disturbance.

What we had hoped would be a pleasant weekend with friends and family turned out to be ruined by the illegal and intimidating actions of David Sperling.

In July 2022, we held our Family Reunion at Camp David. We rented the entire campus (all 4 houses) for 25 people and had rooms & beds to spare. The facilities were wonderfully accommodating with all necessary amenities including: the necessities of hand soap, towels, linens, coffee, makers, blenders, to air conditioning, clean running water, plenty of fridge and storage space, to life preservers, field games/soccer/basketballs, kayaks, to camp fire and smore sticks!

The swimming area, dock, and raft were a wonderful treat. The morning, afternoon, and evening swims and jump contests off the raft will surely be missed!

Moreover, David was extremely accommodating and welcoming. He was more than happy to answer questions and trouble shoot any of our guests requests or concerns. He even offered to give guests tours out on the pontoon boat! Which was true joy for young cousins. Mark, the Head of Maintenance, lived down the street and was readily accessible via cell phone for any technical or maintenance issues that may arise (i.e., electrical, plumbing, or other). A true handy man!

I HIGHLY recommend Camp David on Bantam Lake for your next family get together, wedding, vacation, or weekend get away!

The happy bride & groom shared a wonderful weekend with family and friends at Camp David !
The setting was perfect and the weather was great for the rehearsal dinner festivities.
The cottages were comfortable and well equipped, with room for all..
It was a magical weekend. We LOVE Camp David !

Wonderful spot on a beautiful lake, with many cute shops and restaurants within walking distance. There are kayaks, a lovely dock, and indoor table tennis. The house was spacious and comfortable, with a nice screened in porch for eating. David, our host, was congenial and accommodating. A perfect weekend away!

It was a great 3 days at Camp David. Attended a company retreat and the Rec room on the first floor was perfect! We were able to use the Flat TV on the wall for the presentations. We had breakfast set up and a check-in area. We BBQ'd for lunch, went on boat rides and played plenty of games. At night we had a wonderful campfire with smores!

We had a wonderful stay at Camp David! The cottages were great, with all the desired amenities. Lots of bedrooms for many family members. David was a fantastic host, and always available for anything we needed, and full of local info. Wake and swim, wake and swim daily ; the lake is so beautiful, and steps from our door. Great restaurants, farm stands , coffee shops and the best ice cream ever only 5 minutes away! I couldn't have been happier or more relaxed after our stay. Thank you!

Highly highly recommended! We stayed at Camp David for seven full days and had an amazing fantastic vacation. we used three houses to their fullest and felt completely comfortable. For every problem David was available to fix it himself or send someone in a timely manner. Captain Dave took us boating 3 days in a row, suggested activities in the area like a hike or a children's museum but really the place can entertain a big group for the whole week with the lake and dock (picture attached), The kayaks, the fully functional kitchen and outdoor grills, the fire pits at night and all the Netflix and Disney Plus accounts on the various screens.

I rented a cottage at Camp David early in May for a reunion with some college friends. It was ideal for us, and a very good value.

It was very easy to get there – just an hour’s drive north of the Port Jefferson/Bridgeport ferry. The cottage was well appointed with a gas grill and a firepit. The kitchen had plenty of dishes and cooking gear, along with a coffee maker, Kerig and a toaster oven. There was a caretaker on the premises who helped us with luggage and getting settled.

There are many outdoor activities like hiking, swimming and kayaking. There is a game room with a ping pong table in a common area. The cottage was comfortable, with two indoor seating areas and a fireplace.

We did not need to bring a lot of supplies, because there’s a Stop-and-Shop and a high-end gourmet market nearby. There is also an ice cream shop (Arethusa Farm) and a bakery (the Bakehouse) that are worth visiting, as well as a Burbon Distillery that offers tastings. The downtown areas of Morris and Litchfield have interesting shops and restaurants, and the scenery was beautiful.

Our stay at the Viewpoint Cabin was nothing short of perfect. The lake view was breathtaking, and the cozy space made us feel right at home. Every detail was thoughtfully prepared, creating the ideal setting for a peaceful and romantic weekend. Thank you for an unforgettable experience!

This was my first time in this area of Connecticut, and Camp David was the PERFECT spot to have stayed! The home and the grounds were comfortable, spacious, and great for spending time with groups of family/friends. We enjoyed kayaking and paddle boarding in the beautiful lake and even got to see fireworks in the nearby town. Overall, a 10/10 experience that I recommend to anyone looking to relax and have a nice vacation on the water.

I had a wonderful experience at Camp David. The view was breathtaking!! The grounds were well kept, and the restroom was tidy. I had a wonderful time on the lake and even enjoyed a ride on the owner's boat. This definitely a place you would want to experience with family friends. Ten out of Ten, highly recommend!

A Perfect Lakeside Escape!

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at this charming property on the beautiful lake. We held our employee training retreat weekend and it was a total of 65 people. From the moment we arrived, you get to take in by the peaceful surroundings, the stunning view of the lake, and the cozy cottages! It felt like a home away from home. The recreation room had enough space to accommodate training and breakfast tables.
Waking up to the serene sound of the water and enjoying coffee with a view each morning was pure bliss. Whether you're looking to have an employee gathering, family reunion or just to relax, reconnect with nature, or simply unwind in a quiet, picturesque setting, this is the perfect place to do it.

I can’t recommend this little slice of paradise enough and am already looking forward to returning!
