I wasn't planning on leaving a review as I generally shy away from negative feedback for small businesses, but after a tumultuous journey and the dismissive response my wife received, I feel compelled to share my experience with Wonder Events, particularly with Elena. My wife and I entrusted them with the monumental task of orchestrating our Fall 2023 Boston wedding for 250 guests, and unfortunately, it was a cascade of disappointment from start to finish.

Positives? Few and far between. The initial promise of a fair price for a year of service quickly dissolved into a whirlwind of chaos and incompetence. While the Save the Date designs and makeup suggestions were commendable, they starkly contrasted the complete absence of wedding invite designs despite her reply and the myriad of failures that followed.

The lack of organization and foresight in vendor bookings was astonishing, with excuses ranging from 'unresponsive vendors' to outright forgetfulness. If handling a 250-person wedding was too much, honesty upfront would have been appreciated. It's baffling how a professional wedding planner could absolve themselves of responsibility in such a manner.

But the real kicker? The constant gaslighting and blame-shifting from Elena. From conveniently forgetting agreements and blaming our bridal party for having supposedly difficult names (despite simple names like Josh, Ann, Andrew), to persistently misnaming me as "John" despite numerous corrections over a year, it was a masterclass in manipulation and deceit. The audacity to blame my wife and me for their own shortcomings is simply appalling.

The logistical failures on the big day were rampant. From tardiness to mismanagement, every step was marred by incompetence. The lack of communication, mishandling of the ceremony, and utter chaos behind the scenes escalated our stress immensely.

Egregiously, our meticulously planned timeline was ignored, and crucial moments like the post-ceremony photos were botched, clearly demonstrating that our vision was secondary to their disorganization. The coordinators' absence during crucial moments and their failure to manage the rehearsal effectively left the groom marching down the aisle in silence—a glaring oversight that could have been avoided had the ceremony coordinators been present during the rehearsal.

Communication was indeed the central issue. While I understand the venue was a considerable drive from your house, proper planning to prevent delays and open communication about these logistics would have been appropriate. Your lack of cultural awareness and effort during the rehearsal, where you could have clarified name pronunciations, instead highlighted a desire to rush through the proceedings.

In conclusion, our wedding day was salvaged not by the efforts of Wonder Events but by the tireless support of our families and friends. This review might sound devastating, but it would be an injustice to others not to be honest. Weddings are supposed to be memorable for all the right reasons; sadly, your team's contribution was memorable for all the wrong ones. To anyone considering Wonder Events, proceed with caution. Unless you enjoy being gaslit, mismanaged, and ultimately disappointed on one of the most important days of your life, look elsewhere.
