Giving 3 stars mostly for the location being right off the highway and that the hotel is nice for a Red Roof Inn and i don’t want to discourage people for booking for the convenience factor. However, we specifically chose this hotel because they had a king suite with separate bedroom from the living space as we were traveling across the country with pets and wanted a little more space. The price on the website said $113 dollars when we booked. we arrived and were given the smallest room in the hotel for the same price and were told the suites were more and nothing was available. their solution was to give us the same sized room with 2 queen beds instead of the king, which doesn’t help the situation at all. I pulled up my confirmation email that says we booked a suite and the front desk worker pushed the phone away and refused to even look at it.

we then were forced to book 2 rooms just to be able to make things work since we again were traveling across the country and had a lot of stuff with us. You think you’d get some sort of significant discount for the trouble, heck i’d even be happy with paying the apparent cost of the suite room for the two rooms. Nope. 10% discount, and rooms on the complete opposite sides of the hotel from each other. so we ended up nearly doubling our cost just to have cockroaches, dirty towels, and no soap in any of the dispensers. I understand it’s a budget hotel and sometimes you get what you pay for, but it’s disappointing that even with the troubles their “accommodations” were to make us pay for a second room

Horrible experience. Arrived around 2 am and was told we were getting a 2 night stay for $142. Very skeptical to even stay there but it was late and all surrounding hotels were booked for the night of or the following night so it was the last resort. After frustration, we settled. We were given a 2 queen room. The hallway had some sticky substance that had not been mopped up. When arriving in the room, it was extremely dark with barely any lighting even with the lamps on. One bed completely collapsed under little to no pressure. The second bed had strands of hair in the sheets and visible stains on both. The bathroom was the only area in the room that felt clean enough to use comfortably. That is before looking at the towels which were filthy, stained and unusable. Due to how late it was, and just needing a place to rest, we stayed. The following morning, we left out and returned to ask for a refund for the second night as we were finding a different hotel to stay in, and were told we were only booked for the previous night (arriving at 2 am with checkout being 11 am) and paying way over for the quality of the room. The lady that booked the room the night before was no longer working and the rude man at the counter basically told us there as nothing he could do. WOULD NEVER STAY AGAIN UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE. Would rather sleep in the car than to stay in this filthy, run down and low quality “hotel”. Do not recommend and will be leaving reviews everywhere to warn people to never stay here.

I had a wonderful stay at Red Roof PLUS+ & Suites Birmingham – Bessemer! From the moment I arrived, the front desk staff made me feel incredibly welcome with their warm smiles and quick check-in process. My room was spotless, cozy, and equipped with everything I needed — a comfortable bed, a microwave and fridge, and strong, fast Wi-Fi that worked perfectly throughout my stay.||The hotel’s indoor pool was a great bonus — clean and relaxing — and the fitness center had just the right equipment for a quick workout. I also loved that they offered free coffee in the lobby, which was a perfect way to start my mornings. Plus, having free parking right on-site made everything so much easier.||The location is super convenient too — just minutes away from Alabama Splash Adventure and some great local restaurants. Even traveling with my pet was stress-free thanks to their welcoming pet policy!||Overall, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Great value, clean rooms, friendly staff, and all the amenities I needed. I’ll definitely be staying here again next time I’m in Bessemer! Highly recommend!

I had a stay of one night. First room assigned reaked of smoke so we had to get another room. Chairs in lobby and carpeting very run down looking. Prostitutes hanging out in the front along with other sketchy people. Toilet in room not secured all the way. Swimming pool had hazy water. Stay away from this place!!!!

This facility allowed two people to stay in the room I rented without my approval and then kept my deposit because they smoked in the room when I even told the security guard that they needed to go check because of illegal activity happening. Then I couldn’t reach a manager for over a week. Veryyy not professional!

The worst experience ever the room had a funny smell there was urine on the toilet seat when I walked in, they are very rude ! The towels were disgustingly dirty The curtains had blood stains on then and old blood splatter on the bathroom door it gave “Crime scene” vibes I NEVER got my deposit back anytime I stayed there and they always blame it on “my bank” checkout is at 11am but they bang on your door yelling at you from 8am to 11am

We booked a room through hotels.com here. We chose pay at property for payment. When we arrived early the day of our check in we were told by the employee that our room had been cancelled because my payment didn’t go through. I advised him that no payment should have went through because it was pay at property. He then told me that they tried to contacts a few times by using a 0 then the area code vs a 1. Who doesn’t know a call won’t go through in the us with a 0. He then tells me that they are almost completely booked but has a few other rooms left. Then tells me that it is going to cost me $50 more now to stay there. I asked for a manager and he just kept telling me he had only been there 3 months. Never would get the manager. I was not going to pay $50 more to stay at this place so I left and had to drive 20 minutes back to where I previously was to find a room. Horrible customer service. I think these crooks just cancelled it in order to get more money on the room. Do not book her your room may just get cancelled.

Bare bones hotel, but convenient to the interstate. Several restaurants an easy walk away. Room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Felt like a safe area. Desk staff is helpful and friendly, especially Woo.
