Kim was amazing! She answered my questions before our stay very quickly. The cabin was AMAZING it far exceeded my expectations. Super clean very spacious and so quiet. Truly the best place to stay. I want to make another trip down to Arkansas from Michigan just to stay in this cabin again.

We had a wonderful spring break in Royal, Arkansas. The cabin is pristine and full of surprises. Kim did a wonderful job of making us feel at home and making sure we were taken care of.

We saw deer and turkeys everyday and even spotted a Barred Owl near the old barn. The location is perfect, a short 20 to 40 minute drive to many trails, lookouts, lakefronts, mountains (for rock hounding), and Hot Springs.

Internet is fast, water is warm, and the amenities are aplenty. If you are worried about ticks or bugs, the gravel around the property will set you at ease.

You will not be disappointed with your stay here. This will be our #1 choice if we are ever in the area again.

These cabins are super nice. In October 2023, my wife and I stayed at the Owl’s Nest cabin. Upon arrival the first night, we were very impressed with the nice gravel driveway amongst the tall trees in front of the cabin. It was so peaceful to be nestled amongst the quintessential Arkansas forest. The cabin is newly built and was very luxurious with all the necessities. The decorations are charming with Owl themed wall art and a really cool carved out map of the nearby Lake Ouachita. The furniture is really comfortable with foot rests built in. The shower is resort-like with the nice pebbles at the bottom that make you feel in touch with nature. It rained most of the weekend we were there but that made the cabin feel even more relaxing and cozy. By the way, the host is super friendly and responsive, ready to make your stay great!

The rain did let up some in the afternoon and we made our way to Lake Ouachita for some kayaking. The Echo Canyon marina is just a few minutes drive and super convenient to paddle around a peninsula and explore an island. We highly recommend staying at Owl Creek Cabins for a relaxing, comfortable, and adventurous weekend!

My family recently stayed at the Bird House and I cannot recommend it enough! Myron and Kim went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Not only was the house beautiful, they also provided us with supplies for a full breakfast spread, everything you need to make s’mores around the fire pit, and a personalized cake for the event we were celebrating! The care and detail that they put into everything make them feel like close friends. We will absolutely be coming back for another stay!

If I could give a 10 star review, I would! Our experience in "The Birdhouse" at Owl Creek Cabins will be a cherished memory of a lifetime.

Where to start...
The welcoming. Using key codes, we were able to enter our cabin on our own, which was welcomed privacy after a long day's drive. Yet, we still felt splendidly welcome by a personalized note, a gift bag, and acknowledgements for our special day (wedding anniversary which fell on the same day as the 2024 Eclipse).

The cabin. Because our daughter, son-in-law, and grandsons joined us, we stayed in "The Birdhouse", a three-bedroom 'luxury cabin'. Personally, I had never heard the words 'luxury' and 'cabin' paired together, but it was an apt description! With a quiet, country front porch (complete with chairs to rock in) to a fire pit out back for evening campfires, sequestered in the woods, with beautiful views of a meadow, it definitely had a rural escape, cabin-like feel.

The luxury. Inside "The Birdhouse" cabin, phenomenal luxury awaited. Comfortable leather couches, an awesome recliner (seriously, my husband wanted to take it home), and a huge TV (which we never actually watched, but it was impressive) formed the family room. The open floor plan connected the family room, kitchen and dining area. The kitchen was a cook's dream. A full refrigerator and full sized gas oven, cupboards stocked with all essentials needed to cook or bake. A Kurige coffee maker, toaster and microwave were on the marble countertops for those wanting simpler fare.

Expected luxuries included beautifully appointments throughout: decorative moldings, carefully chosen kitchen and bath fixtures (the two person tiled shower was to die for), tasteful decor, comfortable beds, high quality linens, etc - those all earned the title of "luxury".

But it was the unexpected luxuries that delighted and spoiled us. Our hosts had created a pre-arranged s'more tray along with prepared kindling and wood for the fire pit, and provided long, extendible 'forks' for roasting the marshmallows. Indoor and outdoor games were provided, that engaged our grandsons ~ and us! The lamps in the bedrooms had USB ports for bedside charging of phones (don't you hate trying to find an outlet for that necessity in most guest rooms?). "White noise machines" were also provided in each bedroom, which helped relax our six year old twin grandsons enough so that they actually slept in (miracle of miracles!).

Overall, I can't say enough about the three days/two nights that we spent here. My husband and I drove down from Michigan, and our daughter and her family drove across from the Washington DC area. It was a very long drive for all of us, but we'd do it again in a heartbeat to share family time at the Owl Creek Cabins - and if my hubby and I can sneak away to do it all again, just the two of us, we would!

I didn't say anything about the fun things that we did here - the post is already too long - but I will mention that the eclipse viewing was spectacular. We had a huge meadow, surrounded by woods, all to ourselves to experience a total eclipse. Perfect viewing for those planning ahead to 2045! But we will most certainly be back before then.

We stayed over the weekend and enjoyed every minute of it! Really clean, lovely cabin and surroundings, and just a few minutes drive to the lake. We will definitely be back.
