Julia is the most incredible event planner and designer. She’s professional, resourceful, timely, communicative, and so much fun!!! Julia created and executed the event design at my wedding last month ? It was absolutely magical. She had created all of our bouquets, centerpieces, signage, and ceremony space! Our guests could not believe how beautiful everything was! Julia took care of everything and I didn’t have to worry about a single thing. Would recommend her to anyone for any type of event planning, design, or coordinating! ?

Julia never acted panicked or stressed, and on the wedding day, she was a breath of fresh air, coordinating everything from guest travel, to permits, dropping off the marriage license, food storage, tear down, and the many many many little things in between. She’s forward thinking enough to mitigate problems that could go wrong from the beginning (for example, we got married on a cliff near the ocean, and I was worried that the breeze would blow our flower stands over, but they didn’t move a centimeter), and that alone is a skill that I would hire her for.

Julia is humble, but not shy. Compassionate but firm in her ask for excellence from each vendor. Ambitious, but SO laid back. By our second meeting, we felt like we were working with one of our best friends instead of our planner, and even with those walls broken down, she acted with the utmost professionalism throughout the entire process.

I can’t imagine our day without her guidance; I’m truly beside myself with appreciation. This lady is worth her weight in gold. Seriously give her all your money. There’s NO better investment you can make for your wedding day. We LOVE you Julia!

I’m currently sitting on the plane heading towards my honeymoon, and even though I’m supposed to be chillin’, I couldn’t hold these words in any longer! People need to know immediately just how incredible Julia Marie Events is.

Important background information…. I, myself, am a wedding photographer. And have worked with over 250 coordinators and planners. I’ve seen all personalities, work ethics, creativity, knacks for organization… and Julia is the real deal.

As someone in the wedding world, I had a ton of ideas, but very little time to execute my vision. I also really wanted to enjoy the engagement process, and that did NOT include countless spreadsheets, vendor interviews, timeline drafts, etc. The first time my husband and I met Julia over Zoom, we could immediately tell that we wanted her on our team, and that she would be the one to make our dreams for this day a reality… We hadn’t seen her work before, but we knew from just a short phone call that this rockstar of a human would make us feel positive, calm, and well prepared for our day.

A week after hiring Julia, she had already create multiple vision boards (without us asking), and had a list of vendor options waiting in a PowerPoint presentation, filled with pros and cons for each choice. We were all living on the East coast at the time, but planning a wedding in San Diego, and through her research and connections, it felt like she lived in California the whole time. I have no idea how she was able to make the process so easy with the three hour time difference and lack of being on the ground. A really beautiful thing about a technology forward world is that you truly can hire people from all over for your wedding, and the fact that Julia can and does do both local and destination weddings, is going to make a lot of couples very very happy. Don’t sleep on hiring her!

Julia was always willing to chat through phone calls, texts, Zooms, and email, and was extremely fast and responsive when communicating with me. When she had commitments that would make her responses a bit slower, she let me know well in advance, and was always forthright in managing expectations. Julia has a way of communicating with you that makes you feel so important, like her only client, and she has this way of speaking that reassures you, even when circumstances are difficult. She never came to me with problems, but rather solutions for obstacles she had encountered with some of our requests. And because of that, I don’t feel like I ever faced any amount of disappointment, even when things strayed from our original vision.

Something that Julia also has that I’ve seen in very few planners is creativity, artistry, and a talent for design. Believe it or not, Julia also did all of my flowers and decor for the big day, and when I say she knocked it out of the park, even that is a huge understatement. We were working with a bit of an odd theme. I wanted to combine my love for moody and edgy decor with our love for being on the water, and after finding an awesome catamaran company for our reception, we realized it may be very hard to tie together the “beachiness” of the boat with the mood that I wanted to achieve. But NOPE. Julia created moody nautical chic, and interwove grays, turquoises, deep greens, and bright blues, and truly created our dream reception and ceremony set up, not to mention the most beautiful bouquet I’ve ever seen. I told her I wanted a full bouquet but didn’t want my arm to be tired from carrying it around, and she gave me exactly that. She EVEN brought in touches of my husbands career as a magician into our decor without making it cheesy… and if you’ve seen any traditional magic decor, you know that that is VERY VERY hard to do.
