Sarah, the owner of Eventful, was very difficult to communicate with. I was talked down to and treated like I was incompetent. She made the process more difficult than it had to be and made you feel like you didn't know what you we're doing when planning the wedding.

She told me the planning process would be easy and said we would have a month out call as well as a week of. When the week of the wedding came, I didn't hear from her. I reached out to her, and she told me I was supposed to schedule through the portal (which she never told me previously).

We had a few changes throughout our wedding planning process that were unexpected. With that I understand additional fees will be added to staff properly, however, the amount of money we had to pay was outrageous. If she had had better communication, and they did what they had promised they would do, then I wouldn't have mind paying what we did. I was very misled by Sarah.

Their website is also almost impossible to use and super confusing. The way she highlights, bolds, capitalizes, and labels everything is very chaotic and makes it very difficult to navigate. The site reloaded three times when trying to fill out the forms she required and causing the responses you entered to be lost. This made it very difficult to get her any sort of information that was requested, especially since she wasn't going to reach out to HER client to confirm ANY information.

See the photo attached for how they packaged our wedding cake at the end of the night. She also threw away all our centerpiece greenery and floral rather than putting them in the containers we provided. Our party favor (mini succulents) we're thrown on top of the one floral arrangement she did pack up for us, getting dirt everywhere and unpotting all the remaining favors.

LASTLY, I emailed Sarah upset after the wedding with how they had packaged our items at the end of the night, asking if this is how they normally treat their clients belongings, etc. She NEVER responded to my email!!! I gave her a week, and then emailed her again, saying I hope the email never made it to her, and she wasn’t just ignoring me. Still no response. God knows she wouldn’t have given me a refund based on how the rest of our interactions went, but an APOLOGY would have been nice.

I would not recommend hiring Eventful for your wedding...

Sarah is amazing and she makes the wedding planning process so simple. She helped keep me calm on the day of and took care of the little (but important!) things I had forgotten. Our day wouldn't have been near as special or amazing without her and her team. If I were to renew my vows, I'd hire Sarah again in a heartbeat.

Hire Sarah and Eventful. Sarah and her team made planning a Wisconsin wedding from California so much easier. She was flexible with coordinating Zoom meetings on our time zone (late for her in WI!), kept us on track planning, had wonderful recommendations of vendors, and went above and beyond for us the day-of.
Sarah helped us bring all of our wedding visions to life, including a cake made of tiered cheese wheels. We had vendors from all over WI, Chicago, and New York and she scheduled and managed them to work together seamlessly. We had rain (good luck!) on our wedding day and Sarah and her team wiped down and reset all of the seating for an indoor ceremony amid the down pour. We didn’t have to think about a single thing, except the celebration.
We would hire Make It Eventful 100X’s over. Thank you, thank you for making our day all we had dreamed of!

Sarah and her crew thought of absolutely everything in the planning process before the wedding, during the weekend, and all throughout the celebration. She answered every question and flawlessly troubleshooted and problem solved everything I perceived could be a “bump” until everything was smooth. She was attentive and respectful. We were all grateful to have Eventful for the wedding.

When I say that Sarah and her staff put together the BEST birthday party for my 3 year old…. I mean it with my whole heart. I had the craziest vision and she made it a reality. All of the guests (and kids) were talking non stop about how perfect all the decor and details were. The communication while planning was excellent. Sarah taking over executing this party took so much stress off of me. I can’t wait for all the future parties - I’m a customer for life!!
