My husband and I have been planning for 16 years to visit the Crater of Diamonds State Park. We took along my elderly mother as well as two dogs and it was easy for everyone to move around and had plenty of space to ourselves. We had a great day of diamond digging and even found a few other crystals.
We would definitely go back if we were ever in the area again. Gift shop was very cool also an inexpensive.

Hot and old in a Plowed field is not the best combination for two really senior citizens. But we can say we tried. Found several nice pieces of Jasper. The campgrounds were lovely and we did enjoy them. I recommend Grater of Diamonds as a fun adventure for someone a bit younger than Septuagenarians.

It is a unique experience for sure. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The bathroom facilities were very well maintained and clean. It is in the middle of nowhere so be prepared for little to no cell service depending on your carrier the drive in and at the park. While I was there the wifi worked so I could let family know I arrived, etc. I didn't find any diamonds or amethyst but did find some beautiful jasper and lava stone. It's cool to think there was a volcano there millions of years ago.

Great fun for the family. Had alot of fun, though it can get really hot in the sun. A few more shade station would really help.

When I visited the time before this, there was a Ranger showing us what to look for and how to use the equipment. I did not see anyone like that this time and missed be able to show my daughter.

It was a lot of work, but fun. We didn't find anything but it was worth the experience. I'm not sure why there are 2 different spots to pay. You pay to get in and renting things isn't an option. You have to go to another desk outside to rent. It would have been easier to have everything in one spot and not stand in line twice.

After growing up less than 20 miles away for the park, I was finally able to visit for our family reunion weekend. Although we didn't find a diamond, we created lasting memories. The park is very clean and there's tons of information. The heat can be brutal in the summer months. Our next visit will definitely be in the fall season.

The park and RV/camping site was beautiful. Big lots and plenty of space between lots. Digging for diamonds is a different story. It costs 30.00 to get into the diamond site and then rent equipment. Luckily the rental fee once your deposit is returned is fairly cheap. It islikework and think some people do it for their work. Serious diamond hunters. Don't have high expectations of striking it rich. All we got were some pretty rocks. It's a one and done.

If you enjoy searching for treasures, then this is a fun adventure for the whole family.
Equipment rental and park fees are affordable. There is even a small water park open in the summer.
