We managed to catch the last tour at 3pm. Jennifer gave a wonderful tour of this beautiful historic house and answered all our questions with so much passion and valueable knowledge. We had a great time exploring all the rooms and even got to test out the stereoscope. Highly recommend this tour for a lazy Sunday afternoon.

This place was an unexpected surprise! It's beautifully restored. Jennifer, the registrar, gave me an excellent tour and made me realize it's a "house museum" as well as a "lifestyle museum". If you want your kids to understand how people lived in the 1800s, take them here. Jennifer explains how people used the rooms and the furniture. As example: not every mirror in the house was for looking in. Some were for reflecting light across dark rooms. I'm giving this place five stars because it does one of the best jobs I've ever seen of educating us about how earlier generations lived. And it does so in a really cool and beautiful way. Take your kids.

Love going on tours of old houses. Went to 3 wile in fort smith. Our tour guide at the clayton house was the best. Had a great time learning about the house. She made it fun. My friend I went with has bad knees half way thought she let her sit down and rest. That was very sweet of her. Wish I could remember her name she is in one of the photos. So if you see this thanks had a great time

The house is a most intriguing experience !!!
Paranormal activity is very interesting, the wood used in the furniture is exquisite !!!
After this exquisite display go to the fort Smith museum and give it about 2 hours !!!

My wife and I have toured many of these antebellum homes in different states, but none quite like the Clayton house, especially with many of the original furnishings. And our tour guide was just amazing with her knowledge of the house, the owners, and the history of the area. We truly enjoyed it and highly recommend it.

I visited the Clayton House today to Officiate a wedding (by "@Alternative Marriages" on fb) and met a very friendly and hospitable host named Jennifer. The ceremony was booked for using the white Victorian designed Gazebo, but since I arrived early she welcomed me inside the historical home (Museum) to wait for the couple, their family and photographer. I gladly accepted since the temperature outside was quickly rising. She was very helpful and quickly helped her guests to solve any problems that they encountered while they got themselves ready for the ceremony. Considering the nature of this building I feel their pricing is very reasonable.

I went there with my grandparents and I have to go back when they are giving tours about its hauntings when I went the first time we didn’t get that and we got a tour just about the history and owners through out the years but I can’t wait to go back to get a tour about its haunting if anyone knows when they are and the dates please let me know!
