We stayed for 1-night in a standard king in the Garberville Best Western+ in mid-Feb ($180). We chose the hotel because its location at the south entrance to the Avenue of the Giants was perfect for a day of exploring the redwoods while travelling to Oregon and beyond. Our room was typically Best Western, clean and well appointed, with a comfortable king bed. The hot breakfast (scrambled eggs, omelette, sausages, bacon) was reasonable, and there were a couple of restaurants in town that were okay. The pool and spa area looked nice, but were closed for the winter. Overall, comfortable but nothing special in terms of value, but at a fairly high price.

Don't stay here, it is a dump. We stayed here in June 2023. They had appliances in the lobby. The room we had smelled gross. The hallway smelled like pee. It is a scary place to stay especially if it just a mom and her kids staying. The pool and hot tub had algae and wasn't told on the website that it wasn't working. They were charging an insane amount of money with really nothing to offer. We didn't stay for breakfast and took off right away in the morning. The Best Western in Eureka is a great choice, but not this one. We were told that this was a great place to stay many years ago, but not anymore since new owners took over. Sad because BW is supposed to be a good brand. If I can give them a 0, it'll be a 0.

My family stayed here recently and can’t say much good.|When we arrived their was a homeless man walking around the parking lot and the next morning he was sleeping by the vending machines.||We had ants in our room and bathroom.|The room was clean however.||The pancake machine didn’t Watkins and the Orange juice was watered down. ||This is an older motel that should not be a “plus” since it has outside corridors.||This was one of the more expensive motels in town. Ye not up to par.

I've stayed in this hotel a few times over the course of 13 yrs. It had been awhile since my last visit and they've upgraded A LOT....I got one of their handicapped rooms this time, and it was huge and cozy, with all of the amenities (they even have new kcup coffee makers in the rooms). The breakfast was amazing! Everything was fresh and they had sooo many options....eggs/omlets, REAL sausage, cereals (hot and cold), juices, coffees, teas, yogurt w/3 topping choices, pancakes, 2 types of toast, bagels, muffins...etc. The girl at the front desk was amazing, she had me laughing so hard, what a sweet person. I wish I could meet more people like her everywhere.

We used to frequently stay at Best Western Inn while traveling through Utah and California. We rarely had issues, but we’ve never experienced as many problems as we did at this hotel. The showerhead was broken from the start and kept falling into the tub. They told us it would only be fixed in the morning. The pillows and bedding had a terrible smell, so we had to open the windows about five times during the night. The balcony and the entire area around the hotel were littered with cigarette butts. I’m not sure how to compare this to other hotels, but we had to cancel our next two Best Western stays at different locations since, judging by the ratings, things could have been even worse there.

Cynthia Xinitthi was a lifesaver. We were rained out of our tent campsite and arrived at the motel around 4:30 AM. The front desk was closed, but Cynthia saw us sitting in our car and came outside to see if we needed help. Long story short, she checked us in early (very!) so we could start the drying process ASAP. She also gave us a manager's special, which helped ease our bad situation. We ate breakfast and went to bed since we had barely slept.
It was unexpected to discover such a nice motel in the small town of Garberville when we especially needed one.
...The only reason for 4-stars was that the pool and hot tub were not working.

This is a nice looking BW and great for those passing thru visiting the Redwoods. We had very friendly front desk help, the room was clean, spacious and seemed pretty freshly remodelled. Bedding was good. The shower was good (once we figured out the hot and cold are reversed😉). Breakfast offerings are pretty standard- it’s convenient and will get you started. The pool, spa and ice machine weren’t working but we didn’t need them so it wasn’t a problem. Garberville is a cute little town, if alittle economically depressed, so it’s nice to see the BW is still there as a good option.

Gaberville is pretty rough. Girl at the counter tried to tell us the rooms were usually $350 a night and crowded. Sure lady, the parking lot (like the town) was empty along with the countless closed and boarded up shops.
