An amazing place coming from the vision and travels of one man. We were so lucky to get a personally guided tour by John Taft of his gardens. Seeing a big tree and hearing how he liked it and brought seeds from places to create this garden was so interesting. The proverb of a society being great when old men plant trees that they will never see the shade from comes to mind. There is still much to do, and it reminds me of Huntington Library and the Arboretum, places I loved as a young kid. A day well spent.

Gorgeous!! This is Mr. Taft's gift to Ojai. It's a lovely garden to get lost in and to rediscover those lost parts of self... The parts that became lost because you forgot the importance of be-ing in nature!!
