A great place for a quick family hike. The trail is easy with one moderately steep climb about halfway. We explored a few smaller waterfalls on our way to the large one at the end. I did swim in the pool at the waterfall. It was a great swim with expectedly cool water. Lots of families on the trail with kids as young as 5. Parking can be tricky if it's crowded. There is no cellphone service. I think the total mileage out and back was around 3.5 miles.

I have no idea how to pronounce the name. This is a great intro hike to experience what some of the wilder parts of Sipsey and Bankhead are all about. The trail is wide and fairly flat. The creek crossings are fairly tame. There are several awesome smaller waterfalls on the way to the main event that are easy to get to. Stay on the main trail and it's hard to get lost. You will probably see other people, but probably not many. If it's hot, go for a swim in Brushy Creek. It has a nice sand and rock bottom.

We really enjoyed this hike. It was around 3 miles one way with all the off trail hikes we took. There are a lot of rock formations, overhangs and small falls to see. It has been really dry this year so there was no water on most of the side falls. The main falls were still flowing some. I would go back. There water being low we found som places to cross the creek and have some lunch.

Very fun & moderate hike! We saw several waterfalls, different varieties of centipedes, mossy rocks, and plant life. Pretty raw path with no markers, several downed trees blocking the path but were fun obstacles to overcome, & can be pretty slick in areas near water so be careful! We ran into sweet hiker twice who told us to keep walking after we thought we saw the waterfalls 2 different times so keep hiking until you reach the wide falls at the end.

Beautiful Falls- a good moderate hike- about 2 1/2 hrs or more round trip (depending on how long you stay to soak in the scenery of the falls. Very quiet and peaceful. We found some fiddlehead ferns on the way back.

Enjoyable hike to a beautiful waterfall. We would recommend this to anyone.

TRAVEL
Access to the trailhead requires a several mile drive down a dirt road with lots of potholes.

PARKING
I have included a picture of the parking area, which is big enough for about 4 vehicles if they will park correctly. Otherwise, there are some spots on the side of the bridge and a small overflow lot on the opposite side of the trailhead.

TRAIL
I would consider this as a moderate to easy hike about 2 miles one way. Trail is unmarked, but as long as you follow the creek, you shouldn't get lost. There are several downed trees across the path that you will need to go over or under. And creek beds you will need to cross but were dry the day I went, could have to cross water after rain. About a mile in, you have the option to keep on the wide main (high) trail or taking a creek trail by veering right. Taking the main trail will lead you to a steep slippery hill where the creekside will be narrow but nowhere as difficult. We did see 2 copperhead snakes.

WATERFALL
This is a tall, beautiful waterfall that is great for pictures. It has a rock shelf that you can walk on to go under the water. The path to get up behind the waterfall is muddy and has slippery rocks. You will need to be very careful and make sure you have good footing, but it is so worth it to get under the falls. There is a nice pool of water, but you will need to be cautious about getting in the water because we found tiny leeches or worms that got on us. It has a nice sandy area that looks to have been used as a camping site before.

This was such a beautiful and fun hike! I took my wife and 3 young children and it was great for them. The trail was well maintained, with the exception of a handful of logs across the trail. There were a number of small waterfalls along the way which made it fun. The actual falls was beautiful and had plenty of water as it had rained the night before. No snakes seen on this outing, but I’m sure they’re around. Highly recommended though!
