Wow !!!!! The Birmingham Airport customer service rocks. The manager Kayla is my absolute favorite to work with, she's extremely professional, friendly and has been there for me when I ran into small issues that could happen anywhere regardless of where you get a rental car. I highly recommend this National car rental to anyone who is looking for fast & friendly service from caring managers and other team members who work here. If I could give them 5 thousand stars I would, hands down one of the best companies I've ever rented from. 💯

Absurd wait. 16 people stood waiting to get keys for a vehicle, 12 people in line to check-in. Yes I counted, I’ve never seen a rental pickup this poorly managed.

The experience was with my previous rental. I was accused of damaging the vehicle. I've been renting with National with a corporate account for the past 2yrs every week. I've spent thousands of dollars. I understand a person doing their job and having a bad day but the representative apparently didn't follow the protocol of dealing with a customer. If this is the protocol it should be changed. I'm currently in talks with the business support team vice president to change our account from National therefore you will lose tens of thousands of dollars a month. My next vehicle rental they have agreed that I'm not required to choose National until we can look elsewhere. The representative was taller than me and it was necessary that I get on the ground to see the damage to the under carriage. How he saw it is beyond my comprehension and I'm a Mechanical Engineer hence my constant travel. The math doesn't add up. The insurance is handled through my job so it's not an issue. When I asked the aforementioned question to the employee he responded in a flippant manner and walked away. The vehicle was in my possession the entire time and I would have noticed damage but that's why insurance is purchases. My company pays for damage with a corporate account, so I have no reason to withhold information. I've had a rock hit the windshield before and immediately contacted our client representative for National dedicated to our account. I was targeted, your representative was rude, and I will do what is necessary to make sure we do not utilize your company. Train your employees to not judge people based on appearances because you don't know the power they hold. You should heck my account and see the monney that has been spent with you. I enjoyed my experience until now but you lost a 6 figure plus account. If we keep the account it won't be utilized because I'm the southeastern manager of our company. I'll make sure none of my employees use National. Again don't judge people by appearances and assume they are stupid or don't have money.

I travel extensively and rent a car several weeks each month. I have rented from all the Major rental car companies and National stands out as having the best express service to go directly to the car of my choosing. No hassle and no waiting in line. I would have rated 5 stars but feel their loyalty program could be improved. Currently customers are awarded a free rental day after making 5 rentals. However, I typically rent a car for three to 5 days for each rental but I only get credit for one rental just as the person does who only rents a car for one day. National should have a program based on rental days Vs. Rental agreement to honor the loyalty of good customers who rent their cars for multiple consecutive days.

Had a temp driver license due to it being lost. Had my passport and TWIC card as additional proof. Did not let me rent my car, was late for an important meeting. Initially the manager said risk would not allow me to rent a car. After calling customer service they told me it was up to her the manager. When I told her that she said well my area manager said no. Highly doubt she called her area manager because I was watching her assist with cars the whole time. Sad thing is the other National i went to during my business trip let me. Even customer service did not see any issue. If I could leave 0 stars I would.

I take many trips to Birmingham for business and pleasure. I have always had above and beyond great customer service and no issues with the cars I have rented. As an executive member, I’m used to choosing my car and leaving. At this location, all members with status or not must check in at the booth and be given keys to a car. I’ve never had to wait longer than a couple minutes.

My experience was pretty disappointing. No cars were available for Emerald Aisle, and even though I'm supposed to be an executive elite member, it honestly feels like they don’t value loyalty. It’s as if they don’t even want my business.
