Loved visiting this place ! It was on my bucket list. 30 min film in hanger 2 defiantly worth it. Gift shop at end of hanger 2 very hard to find was closed for lunch so didn't get a magnet. Also if you can't walk that far drive down the hill and park. Also its free to see.

A place I have wanted to visit for some time and it did not disappoint. Overall, less than 2 hours. Would start with the 30 minute film to get an excellent overview (believe on the hour) and then return to hangar 1 to start the tour. This hangar focused on the nuts and bolts of the operation while hangar 2 addressed the accomplishments. In addition to the victory abroad, there was a great deal to learn about the victory at home - the Double V. Hangar 2 also housed a P-51 Mustang (red tail).

It's definitely worth a trip to see. They built this entire facility & you can still see their craftsmanship in the brick & concrete poured in Hangar 1.
The movies are filled with facts, the artifacts are real & the park Rangers are passionate about what they are speaking of.
Lots of space throughout the museum & picnic areas outside to watch small planes take off/land.
Best of all .... IT'S FREE!!!!

This was a wonderful tour. As a long time ago, I pilot myself. See the movie Red Tails, the movie reflects this air field. Lost to read about this site. The movie barely reflects the cultural differences. I'm not going to write a history lesson. Go see for yourself.

Bucket List for six friends on motorcycles plus our deceased friend in a small urn, we take to all vacation stops, to check out for our annual 2025 Income Tax 2,500 mile ride. We enjoyed visiting, reading about history, watching movie, taking pictures, all employees were very nice and informative, gift shop was able to get our wishlist completed.

A worth the drive from Atlanta to explore the educational and emotional part of history during WW2 - Two hangars of history had pride and hurt swarming around me as we explored every inch. The JR Ranger booklet is also a good resource to teach the kids about this time even if they don’t fully understand it yet. Highly recommend coming during the weekday in the early times of opening…

We spent yesterday at the Tuskegee Airman National Historic site.

It was amazing- hearing their stories, watching personal interviews, seeing what they worked with, and the deeply racist policies and attitudes they lived through and overcame. And what a record of overcoming!

What a testimony to the American spirit of these aviators and the grit of that generation.

Stopped here on my drive down from Atlanta to Mobile and it was a nice place, specifically if you know the history. Came at 6 in the morning and it was quiet and empty!
