Great views of the Santa Elena Canyon from here! You're closer to "neighbors" than other back country sites we stayed at but definitely not super close. Hiked the creek area and discovered ruins.

I'd give this a 5 if there were no neighbors! Choose the site closest to the canyon so you wake up to the best view. The road into the site isn't too bad, though several Rangers noted it can be bad when it rains, so be prepared. This site fits two vehicles only. Looks like the other two sites do as well...it's fairly tight to park, but the campsites themselves are large. Coyote and javalina activity, so use the bear box for your food/trash. The sunrise view is spectacular, and of course the night sky is dark, so the stargazing is amazing. No restroom, no power, no wood fires. If you've got a group and can get all 3 sites, this is a special location for sure.

Great campsite. I probably shouldn't have driven my Chevy Malibu all the way to the campsite, but I was able to make it - only having to drive rather carefully. The ruins here are beautiful and the campsite rather peaceful.

This campsite has a great view towards the mouth of the Santa Elena Canyon. Here there are also 3 campsites in close proximity with plenty of parking, it would be a good location for large groups

Friendly owner runs a professional shop deep in the heart of Texas desert. They are here to help you with your car, truck, or an RV should you run into trouble during your adventure.
