This Ranch is just so beautiful! With spectacular surrounds and absolutely stunning cabins and facilities, all with their own special theme. So much care has gone into making this a unique Ranch experience, not just a great place to sleep the night! The animals are so loved and cared for, and the Horseback Riding is just the perfect way to relax and enjoy the beautiful surrounds. Thank you Darrell for hosting me, all the way from Australia, and for the great Ranch life experience. Highly recommend this gorgeous venue!! I will be back for sure!

5 stars across the board. My team and I had the pleasure to spend time at Rockin' Star Ranch for a photo/video production in March 2025. Darrell, his family and team were extremely accommodating, flexible and patient with my crew, which made for an awesome experience. He and his family have so much passion for the property and animals, it truly showed in their day to day. No task or request was too wild or big for Darrell and his team, which was so appreciated.

The property is well kept, spacious and beautiful. In the midst of busy days on set, there was a sense of peace walking around the ranch. Although my visit was due to work, I hope to have the opportunity to go back and visit as friends in the future.

If you are deciding whether or not to book/visit... do it!!

This place is the perfect mix of rustic charm and modern comfort. The property is absolutely beautiful—wide open spaces, rolling pastures, and peaceful surroundings that make you feel completely relaxed and at home.

The accommodations were clean, cozy, and thoughtfully designed. You can tell the owners put a lot of love into this place. Whether you’re sitting on the porch watching the sunset or enjoying the trails and wildlife around the property, it’s a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

It’s also super convenient to downtown Brenham, where you can explore local shops, restaurants, and of course, grab some Blue Bell ice cream.

Whether you’re looking for a romantic weekend, a family trip, or just a quiet retreat, Rockin’ Star Ranch is a fantastic choice. I’ll definitely be back!

Staying on this ranch was the highlight of my trip to Texas! Such a special, peaceful and magical place. This was a perfect retreat while coming to TX for a Roundtop shopping trip. Our cabin was lovely and our host took special care that we had everything we needed/wanted. We will be booking again!

the staff here are super friendly and accommodating. They were so nice and took care of us and everything we needed. They were also knowledgeable and we learned some fascinating information about the different animals. we loved the horseback riding, the goats and all other other friendly animals. I would definitely recommend this ranch to others and come again with my family as well. the grounds are beautiful and perfect for weddings and other family celebrations

I’m still waiting for a response about my refund, and I’ve heard nothing from Darrell or Gale. This place is old, rundown, and absolutely disgusting! Forcing guests to sleep in an arena that clearly reeks of animals is beyond disrespectful.

The sheets were filthy, old, and covered in lint balls—completely unacceptable, especially considering they charge more per night than a Marriott or Hilton. It’s 2025; at the very least, invest in new bedding!

I was in utter shock when I walked into my room. I left my bags there for three hours, while the even took place, then walked right out. There was no way I was laying my head on those nasty sheets.

STAY AWAY—THIS PLACE IS A JOKE! 🤮

It’s disappointing, but not surprising, that instead of addressing my concerns about cleanliness and overall conditions, you chose to respond with sarcasm and deflection. Let’s be clear:
1. Nowhere did I dispute the two-night minimum or my contribution to the wedding package. My issue is with the subpar accommodations that were nowhere near worth the price. Charging luxury hotel rates while providing unclean, outdated rooms is completely unacceptable. Additionally, nowhere on the waiver or invoice was there any mention of a no-refund or cancellation policy. If that were the case, it should have been clearly stated upfront.
2. Yes, the arena suites are listed on your website, but what you fail to mention is the overwhelming stench of animals inside them. No amount of flowery descriptions changes the fact that no guest should be expected to sleep in those conditions.
3. The fact that no one else complained to you directly does not mean they were satisfied—just that they chose not to waste their time dealing with an unresponsive staff.

Rather than taking accountability, you chose to make personal jabs and imply that I should ask the newlyweds for my money back (which, let’s be honest, was a completely unprofessional comment). This isn’t about a refund anymore—it’s about warning future guests about what they’re really walking into.

Future guests, take note: The Rockin’ Star Ranch cares more about clapping back at negative reviews than they do about improving their guest experience.

My friends met at the ranch for a girls get away. The location was only an hour from Houston. The ranch is lovely and the cabins were well equipped and cozy. Darrell and his staff were so kind and friendly. I had a wonderful time. I will be back soon with my family.

Our daughter’s wedding was at Rockin Star Ranch and it was just perfect!!!! We rented the whole place (cabins, main house, barn rooms) for the wedding party and family. It was worth every penny! A lot of laughter, stories and new friends and memories were made throughout the weekend! The options of where ceremonies could take place (they chose the big tree in the pasture). The ride down in the hay wagon allowed everyone to take the beauty of the land all in. The outdoor kitchen and all of the outdoor space was just perfect for the traditional BBQ we had for rehearsal night. Access to the pool, fire pit, pool table and table tennis added to all of the fun! The horses, cattle , pigs , goats etc. was the icing on the cake. The bridal suite was exquisite, and with the make up chairs, large sitting area, and space to hang dresses was comfortable for the bridesmaids and make up artists. Full chefs Kitchen and full size bar in the reception hall made it easy for the caterer, bartenders etc. So nice that we were allowed to bring in our own beer, liquor, and mixers. Darryl (owner) and his sons along with Gail ( his mother) are great hosts and always went the extra mile if needed. They made it easy and less stressful with all the extras they provide. Especially the fact that we could clean out things from the reception on Sunday morning vs. Saturday night like other places we have experienced in the past. The reception hall is large but yet comfortable and with classic lighting and the DJs sound system sounded great! There are so many other activities that you can do out there. We initially found Rockin Star because we booked a horseback riding trip there. We decided that we will definitely be coming back again For a few days to enjoy all of the other options!!😎
