Our families rented the entire place because our daughter got married at Mae’s Ridge. Everything was absolutely perfect about this place. We hosted the welcome dinner the night before wedding in the pavilion area and loved how convenient it was directly across the street from venue! Cabins are very well made and we loved the design of the bathrooms (makes it super easy for multiple people to get ready). Cabins and pavilion both were well stocked with items you would need. Mike (the owner) is on top of communication with any questions you have! We will definitely be back!

Our family numbers 30 ranging in age from 2-72 and the Hillside Acre Resort worked out perfectly! The cabins were clean and well appointed (beds slept well) with full kitchens including all the accessories needed to enjoy an elongated weekend. Our experience started with the owners, who couldn't have been more hospitable--everything was ready when we arrived, which made the vacation go without a hitch. We didn't play all the games available--but that was our fault. It was a couple of warm days in June, so we spent most of our time in the pool having a great time playing water volleyball. We did catch a few fish, which was great for the kids, and in two cases the first fish ever caught by a couple of our grandkids.
The barbeque area was great and well equipped as we tested it with Brisket, smoked pork and our usual hamburgers and brats.
The most outstanding feature was the pavilion. It was air-conditioned and had tables and chairs to seat 45, which is hard to find in most vacation rentals. Although there were light cooking facilities on the inside, the outside had a flat-top cooking griddle that worked well for our breakfast Tacos, pancakes and veggies for our fajitas--great addition to the pavilion! The rainwater system ensured the water was good and a real environment saver!
As our family groups left to go home, they asked which dates for next year! Those are the questions that place the final stamp of approval on the place--so Hillside Acres is back in our sights for 2025!

We’ve been coming to Hillside Acres for the past 5 years or so, and it’s wonderful. It’s far enough off the beaten path to be incredibly quiet at night (we forget how much background noise there is back home), but not so far that running to the grocery store or a nice restaurant is more than 15min away. The grounds have open spaces for games, a little pond for fishing, and are just a nice walk, especially down by the creek.
Hillside Acres is super close to state parks and natural areas; anywhere from 15min to Pedernales to an hour for Inks Lake and others, depending on how far you want to drive. But if you aren’t much of a hiker and want some nice walks, there are more leisurely city/county parks both in Dripping Springs and Wimberley.
We hope to keep coming back for years.

We rented all the cabins and the Pavillion for the weekend of our daughter's wedding. It absolutely had everything we needed! Plenty for all the family to do..kids included! Lots of gathering areas indoors and outdoors! The cabins were so clean and included a well equipped kitchen and bathroom. The day after the wedding we all gathered there and played volleyball, corn hole, horseshoes, etc. A couple of the kids caught their first fish! The owner, Mike, could not have been nicer! They had a hard freeze the day before and, typically Texas weather, it had all warmed up but left a huge mess and no electricity right before we checked in. Mike had it all cleaned up (no easy task) and electricity back on and had turned the heaters on in each cabin before we got back from the wedding! The wedding was at Mae's Ridge right across the road. We're already talking about a family reunion there! We loved it!!

Our family comes almost annually to the Hillside Acres Retreat. As the cook, I love that the cabin is well stocked with high usage spices, oils, salt and pepper and that there is normally some coffee waiting for us in the frigerator just in case we forgot anything. I also love that the amenities outside have my kids outdoors the entire day. They have teether ball, fishing pond, grassy land large enough for a pick up soccer game, disc golf and many other games around the vicinity. With multiple cabins on site, we also normally travel with friends which allow everyone to have time to feel connected to both family and friends. The location is perfect for visiting Fredericksburg for an afternoon wine tasting, hiking through Pedernales State Park or taking a day trip to Enchanted Rock. We feel like we have found the perfect vacation spot for our active family.

A secret gem in the Texas Hill Country! These beautiful cabins are perfect- 2 bedrooms, a fully-equipped kitchen, living rooms and front porch. The way the bathroom is arranged allows for more than 1 person to get ready in the morning. My family enjoyed the bocce ball courts, fire pit, BBQ area, frisbee golf, pool and the grounds in general.

We traveled to Texas for a wedding held at Mae’s Ridge and stayed at Hillside Acres, which was right down the road from the venue! It was the perfect place to stay, with many cabins surrounding an open area of picnics tables for eating and open space for playing numerous games (which are available). The cabins were updated and incredibly clean. It’s a great place to gather with groups, families or even wedding parties to stay. We had the greatest time and wish we could have stayed longer!

The cabins at Hillside Acres Retreat were beautiful, spacious and well equipped. Mike was so easy to work with and flexible with our needs. I think we played every outdoor game the retreat has and had such fun! I would definitely recommend this place for anyone wanting to have a family reunion. We have already made plans to book here again!
