It was more amazing than I could have imagined. The communication pre-flight and the check in process is great. They let you help set up if you would like to. Our pilot, owner Brian, was funny and entertaining from beginning to end. Although we didn’t want it to end, mimosas and goodies were the perfect way to end our flight. Unforgettable Birthday Balloon Ride with Rohr Balloons – 20 out of 10!

Celebrating both my daughter's and my birthdays with Brian Rohr of Rohr Balloons was an experience beyond words. The journey was calming, soothing, and breathtaking—a serene float above the world.

Despite my usual fear of heights, the flight felt incredibly secure. Even when looking down, I felt none of the anxiety I expected. Instead, I was surrounded by the distant sounds and earthy scents rising from below—truly awesome.

Brian’s expert piloting ensured a flawless takeoff and a perfect stand-up landing. He pointed out stunning spots over Melissa and Anna, Texas, sharing fascinating facts about the area. One memorable moment was when we lined up perfectly with the runway at a nearby airport. Although we didn’t fly over it, the alignment gave the fun illusion of heading toward the landing strip. Brian even joked about calling in to land there, adding a playful touch to the adventure. His calm demeanor and storytelling made the experience scenic and educational.

The entire ride felt like having a panoramic window seat in the sky, offering breathtaking views that were both peaceful and awe-inspiring. The slight morning chill and artistic cloud cover added to the ambiance, creating a scene reminiscent of a masterpiece painting.

The crew was fantastic and highly coordinated. They followed us in vehicles, staying in constant communication with Brian to ensure they were ready to meet us wherever we landed. It was fascinating to see how we floated past potential landing spots as Brian assessed whether they were suitable. We even experienced a gentle tug to the roadway when we touched down, with the crew pushing and pulling the balloon to guide us safely to an exit point. Their teamwork was seamless, making the entire process look effortless.

The ride culminated with the Balloonist's Prayer and a champagne toast, making the experience truly special:

"May the winds welcome you with softness, may the sun bless you with its warm hands, may you fly so high and so well that God joins you in laughter and sets you gently back into the loving arms of Mother Earth."

We were picked up in Allen, drove to Melissa, and took off near Buc-ee's. We floated gracefully over Melissa and Anna, Texas, before touching down near Anna. Brian explained that takeoff and landing locations vary depending on wind and weather conditions, so each journey is unique. He also mentioned that we wouldn’t be taking off and landing in the same spot, adding to the adventure. Our experience ended with a smooth drive back to our cars in Allen—seamless from start to finish.

Practical Tips for Cooler Weather Riders:
Since Rohr Balloons flies year-round, temperatures can vary greatly. For cooler weather flights, I recommend layering up to stay comfortable. One tip we learned: bring hand warmers for your gloves! While our bodies were warm, our fingertips felt the cold. Small touches like this enhance the experience.

Pro Tip - Choose the Sunrise Flight:
For those planning their first hot air balloon experience, I highly recommend the sunrise flight over the sunset option. Sunrise flights usually offer better flying conditions with calmer winds and clearer, more scenic views. Watching the sun rise above the horizon while floating peacefully above the world is breathtaking.

Wish Google allowed video uploads because I have a great hyperlapse video of both the inflation and deflation of the balloon setup. It perfectly captures the magic and excitement of the entire process.

I can’t wait to experience this again and am already planning to share it with my entire family. Rohr Balloons delivers an experience that is calming, inspiring, and unforgettable. I highly recommend them to anyone seeking a unique and serene adventure in the sky!

This was a 10/10 experience and a must add to your bucket list! I booked this flight with my friend to celebrate my birthday and it is one I won’t forget. The views were amazing, you could see for miles and sometimes even get close enough to wave at people below. I think what also helped make this such a great time is that the crew and pilot were so nice and knowledgeable. I will definitely be recommending to my friends and family.
