Came here to check out the ruins, didn’t realize the history that came along with it! Kind of a bummer it was turned into a tourist attraction and looted before it was abandoned, but still a really neat place to visit with some wild history.

My boyfriend and I stopped here on our way from Winslow to the Grand Canyon back in March. We saw the sign on the side of the freeway and decided to make a stop. We didn't explore as much as we wanted to because at the time it was cold, but we can't wait to come back and see more. Worth the stop!

Super cool experience! If you're a space nerd, I would recommend checking it out. They had all kinds of cool activities, a scavenger hunt, and interactive exhibits. I will advise if you are a fatty like I am and live in a low-lying state, (My fellow Texans). This is for you. You will be short of breath climbing the stairs, sooo many flights of stairs. Stair-maggedon..... otherwise 10/10 stop in and see it!!!!

Of all the places we went to this month, the side trip to #ApacheDeathCave is the favorite, a less known historical landmark off I-40E. Worth the year long wait to explore! You will never be at this age again so what makes you happy.

In the presence of disturbing history. The canyon behind it was a war ground, the cave held the death of many Apache. This place was rebuilt throughout time. Burnt down and abandoned in the 1970s. If you're interested, look up the history of 2 Guns, AZ. You won't be disappointed.

The story is most interesting. Take the time to read about this place before you visit if possible. The ruins are quite incredible, they date back to around 1050 A.D.. my best suggestion is to visit him the evening about an hour before sunset. Be careful, the rocks are unsteady, the gravel a little slippery. Hold those young'uns hands.

Parked in a dirt lot nearby and walked to the cave entrance, a couple old logs and made my way down into the cave. Probably not for everyone but if you can make it down it pretty neat. Just off Route 66. If you aren't familiar with the local history this is the spot we're 42 Apache were killed in a raid by the Navajo tribe.

It took me a while before I found this cave opening. I was over by the abandoned zoo area first. Then I went to the other side at the top of the canyon area. This is where I found the entrance. Cold air was blowing in my face when I got close to the opening. When I went in it was mind blowing. I went in as far as I could go before turning around. There is a lot of dark history in this apache death cave. I was so happy when I found it and went in.
