We stayed here for two nights--we were looking for something just outside of the city and needed a dog friendly property. The location is pretty nice, on the river, although you can see some industrial development on the opposite bank. The biggest problem with the room is that there a loud mechanical noise all night, both nights. It kept both of us from having a good night of sleep, and it was so significant I could feel the vibration through the bed. Brutal. This a clearly a "special events" type of place, i.e., for weddings, but are setting up as a VRBO to generate a little income during the off season. The room was decent, but the shower water temperature was impossible to modulate. The ceiling fan could have used a good clearing, as there was a lot of dust on the leading edges. Breakfast options were simply a couple of cereal options and oatmeal, in paper bowls. For what we paid per night, I expected more. I would not recommend a stay unless they fix the mechanical noise (probably HVAC) and have a little more attention to detail from a guest's point of view.

We had our wedding here in April 2024. We rented both private houses on the spacious property and all of the suites which made the 200 acres feel private. The location is so beautiful and we felt prepared for all weather with the options of the courtyard, inside the hall, or under the tent. Our guests came from all over the US and everyone had a great time thanks to TN Riverplace. I recommend hiring an outside coordinator as who we met with at TNRP originally did not work there at the time of our event which caused some communication issues. Otherwise I could not recommend this place more when it comes to hosting a stunning wedding at an affordable price!

Pros: We hosted our mehndi here for our South Asian wedding and it was stunning! The property was well-maintained and clean. The venue is pretty flexible, and the staff is kind. I'd recommend them for any event. We rented our linens from them which made things simpler for us. It'd be nice if they added some nicer chairs in their inventory for couples to rent.

Cons: We did have a random stray dog on the venue towards the end of the event.

This venue is absolutely gorgeous. There is so many different options for setting up your event and wonderful places to take pictures. I appreciated the bridal / groom suit and the rooms to rent. It made it easy to have everything all in one place. Bonus - They are dog lovers, which made it possible to include our pups in our wedding.
We opted to rent out the RiverHouse for the weekend before our Sunday Wedding and was able to have a lovely time with our family coming from out of town the night before.
At my ceremony, there was a crazy windstorm that blew off a bunch of our reception table decorations. It was a little bit of a disaster. Without anyone asking, the staff saved my centerpiece and brought it indoors, then repaired and put back all the decorations on the table. They also offered help in the set up and take down. It was greatly appreciated since my understanding was they were not required to do these things.
My day was perfect! Thank you for providing the most amazing venue.

Our grand daughters wedding was held here and the wedding was outside at the archway. It was held at 5 p.m. at facing where the bride and groom sit the sun is to your left. So bright I really could see . Maybe if they had it turned to where the sun was to your back it would have been better. The rest of the service, the dinner all was good.

We hosted our wedding here in November of 2024. We were looking for a venue close to downtown Chatt that showcased the beauty of the area and was more unique than most of the barn venues around town. The architecture and scenery of TN Riverplace is hard to beat. Our guests stayed downtown and didn’t have issues finding Ubers to/from the venue, despite being around 15 mins from their hotel. Our wedding party rented out the rooms in the venue Villa and each of our families rented the VRBOs on property to make prep and travel easy, and it was well appreciated by each of us after a busy weekend! The accommodations were perfect as well as the on-site suites for bride/groom parties to get ready together.

I can’t say enough good things about the TNRP staff and the service they provided for us and our guests. We always had 2 dedicated staff on site to answer questions, manage trash, and help our coordinator if anything was needed. It truly feels like a family run operation, and we felt important to them the entire time we were on property and throughout the planning process.

If you’re looking for a unique venue that you don’t have to spend hours decorating because the scenery and atmosphere speak for themselves, I would highly recommend touring TNRP. 90% of our 100 guests came from out of town and immediately fell in love with Chatt. We can’t wait for our photos to be ready, as we know they will be gorgeous thanks to the fall colors we experienced on their property that weekend. Thank you Bailey, Krista, and the entire team!

*edit since I can’t reply to their response*: Don’t recommend reaching out directly when you’re just going to ignore the emails that have already been sent. Power outage affected a substantial area..yet my point is still made. There was no backup plan in case an incident like this happened. The event didn’t resume with “negotiable delays”. We didn’t NEGOTIATE anything! Venue staff completely disappeared when we were trying to come to a resolution. In fact, we found one of your staff HIDING IN A CLOSET. Weather happens, accidents happen, but when you are a trusted venue for huge life events, have a plan in place in case something like this happens. Don’t just say “Oops! We did everything we could!” (You didn’t) and then say you’re following the contract. It’s giving careless and money hungry. You truly don’t care about the guests’ experience, you care that you did the minimum to meet the contract and no more unless the party had paid for it. I’m hoping you gain some common sense in the future and decide that it actually may be a good idea to invest in a backup generator in case this happens again. Because that IS “in the scope of control of the venue”.

DO NOT BOOK THIS VENUE. Please pay attention to the other negative reviews on this page and do not let them ruin your special day. The lack of planning by the venue staff truly ruined my best friend’s wedding night. Unfortunately, the power went out before the ceremony and the venue had no backup plan. It was like the power had never gone out there before. No maintenance team on hand to try to fix it, no backup generator, no ideas from the venue staff. And when we were trying to figure out a solution, no venue staff were anywhere to be found. The bartender had to work in the dark, no AC, and we had to bring flashlights to use the bathroom. The only reason we were able to have the reception was because the BRIDE’S FAMILY had to leave the venue and hour before start time and BUY THEIR OWN GENERATOR to power the outdoor string lights and DJ booth. Of course, weather happens, but the venue really dropped the ball on their planning and preparation.
If you are looking to book this venue, please immediately look somewhere else. They have no empathy about your wedding day; they only care about the contract and the money.

As mother-of-the-bride and event planner, I thought the venue was beautiful and my daughter fell in love with it. Her floral designs were beautiful, her caterer was great, the hair and makeup area is very ample and accommodating complete with a steamer (even the artists commented on the space), the staff was nice and helpful and did a good job with the reception set up and linens. The guest rooms were very nice, complete with water, soda and snacks. I did find out there wasn’t hot water in the bathrooms. Great photographer. The bartender was really great. She handled our crowd of about 55 guests with ease. The venue is classy, beautiful and spacious. Everything was going according to plan all the way up to about 2 hours until the wedding and the power goes out and the venue has NO backup plan. They thought it was going to rain (it never did) so they started tearing everything down on the open patio and moving inside where there wasn't power, no emergency lighting. The DJ at least had a backup power source. I felt sorry for the coordinator of the day (my son was looking for the electrical panel and said she was crying). A server tried to help us more than the coordinator. She told my daughter we wouldn't be charged for moving the reception. What? My daughter said she didn’t want to move inside as she was tearing up. I told them to put everything back as she wanted. We were all running around trying to figure out what to do as we weren't getting much help from staff. We were told there was nothing they could do. We asked if we could bring in a generator so a least the DJ would have power and for the string lights and were told no. My son-in-law was on the phone with the director. My other son-in-law, finally got the director to agree to let him and my husband drive into town and rent a generator, they brought it back and got the lights and DJ going. Everyone was sweating profusely from hauling the generator and getting it hooked up. We all felt like we had to fix the problem and didn't get much help from the director. Anyway, the sky began to part and as my husband and I walked our daughter down the pathway, I reminded her of how beautiful the setting and evening sunshine was and she felt much better. It was so panicked and touch and go for quite a while. My daughter asked for some refund and was told not a chance. As an event coordinator, I only had "acts of nature" happen one time. It wasn't on the part of where I worked, it was torrential rainfall that didn't allow the group to get to their event. I fought for them to get a partial refund at least. This is just one mother-of-the-bride's opinion and experience. I'm just trying to state facts and not feelings as my daughter was asked to edit her review or suffer legal repercussions. This is a perception on my part as we were told this had never happened before. I believe the director should have been there or given the coordinator authority to make decisions. Other than this one huge thing, that was out of all our control, everything was very lovely. It would have been nice to have a backup generator on site. Maybe something for the venue to consider.
