Wonderful place to visit if you like history. Very well maintained and the staff is super friendly. During my visit, they fired of the 98 caliber musket, and both cannons after a brief show and tell by the reenactors. Also got to see a demonstration of some of the drills and was educated on how the medical "doctors" of the day performed their craft. Side note: you can fish here as well. If you can get to the water, you're good to go per staff.

We had so much fun as a family at Fort Loudoun Park. They often do reenactments at the park that make for a great history lesson. One down side is I did not see a playground near where we were at, but the kids still had fun ☺️

Great Visitor Center and Park.. we visited during the rain but it was still great.

They have rebuilt a replica Fort You can walk in and out of buildings to see how the British soldiers lived during that time period.

Well worth the visit!!

We really enjoyed visiting. The grounds are open to explore. The visitor center has a lot of educational history and artifacts. There are trails to walk and explore. Picnic tables and benches. I wish we had more time to explore that day. We will definitely be visiting again. The restrooms are in the visitor center, and the visitor center closes at 4:30 pm. Donations are encouraged, and it is definitely worth it to keep up this nice place.

I was expecting the buildings to actually be from the 1700s. But they were rather historically accurate replicas. Still cool, but not as cool as if they had been original.

The museum (Visitor Center) was closed when we arrived, so we didn't get to see that part of the Park. But we did get to experience some of the walking trails. They were very nice, and a pleasure to walk on!

Overall, it was a good experience. I recommend it to anyone, local or tourist, who enjoys history. I certainly enjoyed it!

I have been in Knoxville for 12 years and never knew this place was so great. They really do a fantastic job with things there. Take the kayaks out around the area. Beautiful views, especially of the Smokies in the morning.

This dog friendly historical fort is the very best I've ever visited in my life, and my father, a history teacher, dragged me to A LOT of forts in my lifetime. The geography is stunning, the fort itself is beautifully rebuilt according to historical details. You can walk into each building, and get a feel for the quarters and facilities. The interior of the buildings is immaculate and sturdy. All structures are well maintained, the grounds are clean, and the views are gorgeous. Dogs are welcomed and accommodated. The museum is unique, intriguing and features a beautiful collection of artwork and artifacts. The rangers are educative, outgoing, personable, and happily answer any questions. They even let you bring a leashed dog into the museum! I am so thankful for such a lovely interactive experience that my children and dog could enjoy!

A throwback in time. When we visited, people were camping on the peninsula reenacting 1700s. They were burning fires and actually living inside the fort dressed time appropriate. (Red coats live) like something out of movie.

Loved it! An interesting place to visit. Woodworking activity for kids is great.
