We have had the pleasure of sailing with Captain Bill twice now, in the last few months.
With any questions, before and after booking, Captain Bill answered email and text, promptly. He went above and beyond to meet our needs and expectations.
Our first experience was a "Lessons Cruise" with two other couples. Captain Bill is very professional and personable. He's very knowledgeable about the area, sailing and also has a great sense of humor. He's was a great instructor, encouraging and listener, as well.
We enjoyed the first experience so much that we knew we had to book another sail trip, and "Event Cruise" when our family came from the west coast to celebrate my husband's birthday.
Both experiences, Captain Bill made us feel very welcomed and safe on "Deadline"
He captured some great shots of us with his professional camera and shared them for a sail to remember !!
We don't live in the area and traveled 1.5 hours to sail and was well worth the drive !! I highly recommend chartering with Deadline for a personable, fun and unique experience !

If you are looking for an absolutely perfect sailing adventure on the York River, this is the excursion for you. We were fortunate to have a mostly sunny day and good winds, making it an exciting sailing experience, especially for those willing to take their turn at the helm. In addition, a US Navy Destroyer traveled up the channel and through the bridge while we sailed. But that's not all! The Coast Guard was doing training exercises, and we saw a pod of dolphins! All of this and a bit of history and nautical knowledge from Captain Bill made this an incredible experience!

Fabulous! Loved sailing on the River York on such a beautiful day! My husband loved & enjoyed taking the helm while Capt Bill changed the sail. Our group of 4 had a fantastic day! Capt Bill made our day!!

I took a solo ride aboard Captain Bill's 32' sailboat named Deadline and had a very enjoyable time. It was relaxing and very educational. Captain Bill gave us a very descriptive and interesting history of the York River.
I would recommend taking a tour or a lesson with Captain Bill. He makes you feel right at home on the river aboard the Deadline. It was a perfect day to sail!

Our afternoon with Captain Bill was absolutely amazing! From manning the helm to sailing alongside dolphins to basking in the Fall Virginia sun, this was the perfect way to end our team's annual retreat. We took a team appreciation Cruise with Captain Bill and had the most fabulous day! We all were taught how to sail, enjoyed a beautiful day on the York River, and had the dolphins swim along side us! This was such a great experience, and Bill was the perfect host for our team retreat!

If you are anywhere in the Williamsburg / Jamestown / Yorktown / Richmond area, a trip out with Captain Bill is a MUST. We had a fabulous three hours out on the beautiful York River. It truly was worth double or triple the price!

The boat (the Deadline) is beautiful, well-equipped, and immaculately clean. And Captain Bill is a gem - a wealth of knowledge with a great sense of humor.

In short, Williamsburg Charter Sails is # 1 on all the sites for a REASON! We would do it again tomorrow if we were back in town.
