Rustic inn that has lotsa Cape Cod charm. It’s old, the doors and locks are wonky, but reminded me of my own home, we don’t call it old, it’s character! Convenient location to the harbor, and town area, where there’s a bus to ptown. Friendly staff. Place was very quiet, on the Sunday/Monday I was there. Great price, will definitely return!

I have stayed at the Holden Inn countless times over the years. It is reliably economical, with a lovely exterior and grounds. The Lodge in back has an old fashioned beach house/camp feel, which is very appealing to some of us. The front building has more of an old B&B feel, The front screened in porch is surrounded by hydrangea, with rocking chairs looking over a lovely view. Location is great, between Wellfleet Center and the harbor, close to Uncle Tim's bridge. It is a five minute drive to local beaches. Bicyclists enjoy the area tremendously.. One can walk to restaurants. This is not for people seeking luxury or a 4 star hotel. Holden Inn is for people not wanting to spend a great deal on the room, but appreciating old Cape charm, the wonderful location and surrounding Cape beauty.. Owner Fred is lovely. This inn has its quirks. Many rooms have shared baths, but some have private baths.Delicious morning coffee is available on the porch.

The Holden Inn is an absolutely wonderful place! The family who runs it is warm and responsive. It is different than a hotel and different than a precious, over-decorated Bed and Breakfast as well. If you want a more posh, standard hotel environment this is not for you. Each room is unique..it is well kept, but in the way so many real Massachusetts building are kept- with no pretense and no "upgrading" unless something is broken. The grounds are relaxing and lovely...the people who stay are quiet and friendly- usually deeply in touch with the nature on the Cape. Come back from a day on one of Wellfleet's stunning beaches and take an outdoor shower or relax on the porch of the Lodge. Traffic in Wellfleet has gotten pretty bad so you will enjoy walking to ALL the restaraunts and galleries in town- or down to the old fashioned, real dock for a morning walk! For those who truly "get" the old Cape this is a wonderful experience! It will be a sad day when all the Inns like this one are gone!

This is a wonderful old inn in the best of locations; walking distance to town, but away from the commotion. Also walking distance to the marina, Mayo Beach and a number of fun and excellent restaurants, The Bookstore, Pearl, and our favorite, The Wicked Oyster. The grounds of the inn are beautiful and there is lots of parking. We stayed upstairs in the main building and the stairs are a bit steep so might be an issue for some. Also, soap is provided, but no other toiletries or hair dryer. The room was charming and very clean with a comfortable double bed and air conditioning that worked well. The Inn does not accept credit cards, so you need to send an initial check as a deposit and pay the balance with cash or check when you arrive.

We’ve been here a few times. Because of the location it’s likely the inn will always have guests but, maybe not repeat customers. It’s cute, charming and like staying at your grandmother’s house except, the bathrooms are dirty. I cleaned the sink when I arrived because, once again, it appears to not have been cleaned. The bed linens are clean but, it’s consistently the bathrooms that are not and, upgrades are a must. The shower, which I’m dreading using, as I did the last time I stayed, has mold and looks dirty.

We had the most perfect wedding at the Holden Inn and cannot recommend the venue, for a wedding or for a vacation, enough. Both of our families have ties to the Cape and we spent our childhoods running around, taking in all the magic the Cape has to offer. ||||We fell in love with the Holden Inn the second we saw it, because we feel it represents the Cape that we identify with: the charm, the history and the natural beauty. The inns on the property were built at the turn of the century and Fred and his family are doing a wonderful job merging the past and present, while maintaining the integrity of the site. ||||My husband and I live in New York and sometimes it felt overwhelming planning a wedding from a distance, but Fred was happy to help and ready answer every question that we could possibly have in regards to it. He is extremely prompt in his responses and was a very dependable point person. We rented the inn for the whole weekend and Fred and his family handled everything gracefully and with kindness. The Holden Inn is truly a Cape Cod gem and our wedding guests, who came from all across the country, loved charm and the uniqueness of the venue and location. ||||The inn was everything we could’ve hoped for and we thank you Fred for your professionalism, expertise and thoughtfulness. Everything was perfect. ||||Thank you for helping to make our dream wedding come true!!! We made the best memories and it would not have been possible without the magical setting of the Holden Inn!!!

The setting for the wedding was wonderful and the great weather allowed it to be held outside. The inn was totally booked by the wedding party, which included yours truly. If you like old New England lodging (tiny beds, no TV, no amenities in the room, except towels and soap, and a shower sized for a small 8 year-old) and no on-site ice, alcohol, or food, then this place is for you. Very charming and nicely cared for.

Our room was in serious need of updating, especially the bathroom. I don't mind old-fashioned or shabby chic, but just shabby is another story. Even the bed linens were worn. On the plus side, grounds and front veranda were nice, parking was easy, location was good, price was competitive. Just wish the place had been more cheerful. We were lucky with the weather and spent as little time there as possible.
