We were really lucky to come across this place while driving by. It’s just 5 miles of trails, but they’re all super peaceful. We just walked around, enjoying the nature and the birds singing. There’s also a great spot by the shore with a beautiful view. We spent a lot of time just walking along the beach, checking out the shells in the sand. Definitely a really cool place. Hope we can come back sometime

Beautiful place with wonderful people. We were there too early to do parts of the trail since the tide hadn't gone out yet, but we covered most of it. If you are a birder, you will be in paradise; they list on the board in great detail which birds you are likely to see, etc. The educational center is well done, and the staff is passionate about their work and very friendly.

day32(23OCT2024) sanctuary66:
modern, airy visitor center with a nice exhibit area with displays and tanks (a sea robin and a northern puffer fish!).
level, groomed, sandy single-track trails.
i went out Goose Pond trail to boardwalk over salt marsh to Hatches Creek. lovely view of salt marsh and bay. i saw more fiddler crabs than i could count and various shore birds. on way back i looped around the Try Island trail - surprised to see large colonies of bear-berry as i've only ever seen it on rocky ledge outcroppings elsewhere in Massachusetts.
Also saw a school of "minnows" in small creek running from Goose Pond into Silver Spring Brook.
Today marks the end of my adventure: 32 day trips over 6 months to visit all 66 Massachusetts Audubon Society sanctuaries.

What a magical hike. We did the Goose Pond trail through the forest and salt marsh to the bay.

It is not a difficult or particularly long trek. I also believe they hey have accessible trails.

We went in early October, but would love to come back in the spring for birdwatching.

Tip- make sure to go at low tide.

Made my first visit here this week and was truly amazed by the beautiful views. Absolutely worth taking in. The staff were so friendly and knowledgeable. I don’t think I’ve spent a better 2 hours in years. I would suggest you wear a hat and consider bug spray, but I didn’t have either and was still delighted.

The main information centre was well laid out with interesting exhibits, photos fish tanks etc. The staff were friendly and helpful. We didn’t see a huge amount of wildlife on the trails but the sheer number of Fiddler crabs to see was quite incredible. Well worth a visit for the scenery alone.
