My family chartered a boat with Captain Darren for the shark tour.

We had an excellent experience from start to finish. Captain Darren was extremely knowledgable and provided a safe environment for our family. He made the entire experience so much fun for both us and our 3 kids.

This company is amazing. The process was easy and the communication was great. Our kids are still talking about it! I would highly recommend using them!

Thank you to Captain Darren for another amazing fishing charter on July 8th and for putting the O'Connor boys on fish since 2012. There is never any guarantee that you'll catch fish on any trip but if there are fish to be had Capt. Darren will guide you to them. We caught many striped bass ranging from 26"-37" on light tackle, great fighting fish. Released 17 healthy fish to swim away and fight another day.

If you’re checking out these reviews, you’re probably trying to figure out which is the best charter boat to book in Chatham.. Stop here. This is it. And keep reading..

Long story short, Captain Darren is the boat that all other boats watch to try to find the sharks.. (or whales.. or fish.) George, our pilot, did an incredible job spotting the sharks from the plane & communicating with Captain Darren. They clearly know the area & understand what it takes to put you right ‘on the sharks.’ Our family saw about 4-5 different Great Whites during our trip.

One other thing to keep in mind, the sharks aren’t contained, (obviously,) and there’s no 100% guarantee that they’ll be visible, BUT, Captain Darren won’t bring you out on a bad day, with garbage weather, when your chances aren’t good. Personally, we got lucky with great weather, but we left a few days open to be ready to reschedule if necessary. That’s so important. (Not everyone does this.) He has a reputation around Chatham for being the best out there & we were told by many locals in town that we “booked the right one.”

I cannot recommend Monomoy Sport Fishing & Captain Darren highly enough. We had an incredible experience and we will definitely book with him again.

Fantastic experience with Captain Darren! Do not underestimate the impact of a great boat that can handle 4 ft swells easily, high end rods that can feel every bite and reels that are so smooth, bringing in 30” plus monster stripers is a blast! And, most importantly, he puts you on the fish!! My arms were hanging the rest of the day from 3 hours of casting, setting and reeling. Awesome dude.

My two sons and I booked a trip with Captain Darren and we couldn't have had a better time. Captain was a great guide and knew the right spots and time to go. My boys are 7 and 6 and this was their first ocean fishing trip, he made sure they were prepared and hitting the fish! The action was great and we caught a keeper and then some. Highly recommend booking a trip with Monomoy Sportfishing and Captain Darren. If you are a dead head he had some excellent tunes to match the great fishing!

An amazing morning with Captain Darren! His brand new Andros 32 gave us an exciting ride about 10 miles out to an area we had pretty much to ourselves. We saw over 25 whales and Captain Darren, watching from the tower, maneuvered the boat so we had a great view of the whales. Words do not describe the experience. Going out to watch whales with Darren at Monomoy Sportfishing is a unique experience that can’t be missed!
